In Short
Located in boxy buildings alongside highways, Taste of India's locations resemble your generic Denny's. But the similarities end with the architecture. With nearly 80 dishes, the menu offers a broad range of choices, from chicken, lamb or fish baked in the tandoor (clay oven) to lentil dal. The fish tikka (marinated, then baked in the tandoor) sizzles atop a bed of crunchy white onions, green peppers and tomatoes.

The resturant had average food - good food (depends on the weather). The customer service is non-existent. I witnessed the staff insulting a potential customer in the restaurant in the full view of the guests.

I ate at the buffet for lunch today and was very disappointed. I typically rate an Indian place on my favorite dish; Palack Paneer. Theirs was watery and under seasoned as were all of the other dishes I tasted. The rice was watery and had no flavor as well. There was no Naan served which is unusual for an Indian Buffet. The worst was that everything was cold, I think that would be a health code violation. The atmosphere was generally unappetizing because it was dirty. There were fake flowers on the table with a thick coating of dust among other things. I tried almost everything and ate hardly anything, payed my 10 dollars and left very disappointed. I was there at noon when most other places serving lunch are very full and there were only two other people there. I should have stuck with my first impression and left when I saw they were dirty and empty.

I've been visiting Taste of India for almost 10 years and I've always loved it! It's finally started catching on with some of my friends. Everyone I take there seems skepitcal, but leaves loving it as well. The portion size is very large and I always leave wanting more but am typically unable to eat a good portion of my food. The basmati rice is light and flavorful, the chicken is always good to perfection, and the garlic naan crusty and warm. Tried something different over the weekend and the chicken tandoor was came out sizzling and delicious. Just writing this makes me want to head back!
