What People Are Saying About India Palace

In Short – Located in a commercial-industrial area of Roseville, India Palace bears the telltale boxy shape of its former occupant, Happy Chef, plus Indian woodwork, prints and swords. The restaurant serves well-prepared, well-seasoned food from throughout the Indian subcontinent: tandoori meats, curries, vindaloos, masalas. The costlier tandoori items--lamb, chicken, shrimp or fish barbecued in a clay pot--are a house specilaty. India Palace spreads its all-you-can-eat lunch seven days a week. –
Great food - not spicy
by Jimi
The food is all good, but if you like it spicy, you will have to ask for Indian Hot plus os so. Might even need some more spice on the side.
We go regularly and find it seldom crowded - except the lobby with a lot of take-out traffic.
- Pros: Prompt, friendly service
- Cons: Don't open until 5 PM for dinner
Don't know why the last 2 were complaining!
by Melissa1212
So, I don't know what is with the last few harsh reviews but, I thought the food was good and it was also nice to avoid the high prices we usually pay downtown. The service was very friendly, they even gave us a small desert on the house and not because we complained about anything ether (I wouldn't expect this usually but, it was a pleasant surprise). They also have some dishes that we have not found at other Indian restaurants in the area and we were happy to see that because I do eat Indian food often. I will definitely visit there again and would recommend it.
- Pros: Good food for a good price!
No-not the "best" or "exceptional" or "ultimate"...it's time to get real and honest
by mintchutney
OK, lets be honest-how many of the reviews posted previously really made an accurate assessment. They are full of superlatives like "best" "exceptional" "excellent" which seems too good to be true-how come all the people have same opinion. Or may be its an opinion of one person with different ids, trying hard to promote India Palace.
Now the moment of truth. This is another one of those "boxy" "next to highway" indian place with mediocre food and service. The buffet is small (actually the smallest I have been to) and lines are a mile long during lunch time. Seating is prompt but the waiters are "shy" and have no clue how to serve guests. Taste of food is mediocre to bland at best. If you don't like spicy food, this is a place for you-and chances are, if you don't like spicy food, you won't like Indian food either so there's no need to go this place. Seating for dinner is prompt as well but the al lacarte menu for dinner doesn't makes much difference-bland food continues to pour out of their kitchen.
I am giving them two stars-one is for prompt seating (most of the times) and restaurant is generally clean. However, if you are looking for authentic indian food, move on.
- Pros: Plenty of seating
- Cons: Borning, dull, unromantic, BLAND food
