The appeal is akin to that of its bottled spaghetti sauce: filled with good things but offering no surprises..
The Scene
You'll find large portions of traditional comfort food, plenty of cozy booths and a bustling market allowing you to take home more of what you came for, as well as a bar area with TVs and a reasonable (if not inspired) wine list. Service is so warm and knowledgeable that your mother could be a member of the waitstaff.
The Food
Although "al dente" is not part of Lido's vocabulary, the stunning array of choices is toothsome. Best bets are the thin-crust pizzas with thick layers of toppings and cheese and the pastas. Order pasta standards from the menu or customize your own from the many a la carte selections--you get to pick from 18 sauces and some 30 toppings. You won't have room for dessert, but that's OK. That, like everything else, is available for takeout.

Fresh Italian.
This is one of the best Italian places in the cities. Everything is fresh, the menu is spectacular. You can create your own meal or order one of the favorites off the menu. The Wine list is excellent. If you want a great appetizer try the Portabella Mushrooms, they are the best I have ever had. You can not go wrong here.

Italian and Ribs!.
A full menu of delightful Italian fare...and strange as it sounds, this place has the BEST ribs in the Cities. Slow cooked for at lest 12 hours, the bone is...well, bone-white and bone-dry. If you think there is room for dessert (portions are huge, so it is not a given), have some. But I suggest splitting it, because whatever you choose will be bigger than you expect. Big portions at a respectable price. Nice wine list. Casual to lightly formal atmosphere. One of my favorite date destinations.
