Who knew you could screw up breakfast. Everything was cold, hashbrowns were absolutely disgusting, and it's overpriced. Service barely had a pulse. I left after the third painful bite. The food is beyond embarrassing.

Worst breakfast in the Twin Cities Award!. This was by far the WORST place you could choose to go for breakfast while in the twin cities! We arrived with our party of 5 and were led silently without any acknowledgment to our table. They were speedy getting us coffee but it didn't matter because it taste like burned water. No amount of sugar or cream could cure it! 3 of my family members ordered omelettes, I ordered french toast and another ordered banana pancakes. All those who ordered the omelettes complained they were bland, mushy and tasted like cardboard. My french toast was HORRIBLE. It tasted like it was soaked in oil and covered in salt. Disgusting. The pancakes were good, which is why I gave this 2 stars instead of one. They also give you huge portions, although it doesn't matter because the food is disgusting, the coffee taste like lake water and the service was the worst I've ever had. Oh and just a side note, you need to go up to the register to pay, ask for a box, extra napkin, straw, everything. They choose not to tell you any of that nor ask you if you are enjoying your food. Waste your money somewhere else!!

Never again. I work in the building, so I eventually break down and get something from the restaurant. The service has been rude on a couple of occassions and non-chalant for the rest. The thing that made it so I'll never go there again, besides their bland food, was this incident: I bought my breakfast and was eating when I chomped down on something hard. I thought it was an eggshell, which wouldn't have surprised me. I wish it was an eggshell; it was part of a dish. When I called to complain they asked me to bring in the half-eaten food. I said: do you really want me to walk this half-eaten food to your counter, in front of all the other guests? You're in the building, come to me if you want to see the piece of coffee mug/plate/whatever the hell it was. They gave me my money back, but didn't bother apologizing.

What a joke.

The classic American breakfast done so many ways, your craving is sure to be satisfied.. In Short
Don't expect anything fancy--just a classic American breakfast done really well. The setting is equally simple: A scattering of local art and heaps of newspapers to pore over. This is the most unrestrictive breakfast menu in town, offering every imaginable combination of every breakfast staple, all cooked to golden brown in a glory of butter. The choices are endless: Wheat or white? Scrambled or fried? Bacon or sausage? Pancake varieties include buttermilk, sourdough, buckwheat and multigrain.

My server deserted my table!. Dropped in for a small breakfast....decent food. Didn't really need anything throughout the meal so I just quietly read the paper. Then I realized, wait a minute: I hadn't seen my server in over 15 minutes. Another 10 minutes of looking around, but nothing, and nobody else bothered to ask if "I needed something." Finally took my food (the leftovers I wanted to take home) up to the front counter and when I told them my server was AWOL, they said "oh sorry" but nothing else. I said "aren't you curious?" and he turned and said "where IS she" to another person and that person said, "Oh, she left a while ago!" But wait! There's more! They then proceeded to charge me full price for my $6 breakfast! It's not about the money (I've spent $15 at Hell's Kitchen---yum---and felt great) but their non-attitude. YUK> who needs this??? I hate it when restaurants quit caring.

Tasty Breakfast. I have to say that I prefer this Egg & I over the one on Lyndale. The restaurant is roomy and not so tight like Lyndale. The food is great. I usually always get an omelet and am never disappointed. The hashbrowns are tasty, and just thinking about the bacon is making my mouth water. I have taken my parents and the in-laws to Egg & I many times, and they have always enjoyed the meal. Service is spot on, and you always have a full mug of coffee.
