I remember the Zantigo Restaurant on
27th & Loomis Rd in Milwaukee, WI. My husband and I had been dating for a few months and we had gone there to eat. I wasnt a fan of Mexican food at the time but when I had the Taco Burrito, OMG!! I was hooked on Mexican food. They were so delicious I could eat 3 of them at one visit. We visited the restaurant at least twice a week. My husband always got the Chilito. When the kids came along we would stop there for lunch or supper. They enjoyed the food too. When Zantigo's left Milwaukee I was very disappointed. To this day I have not had anything that compare's to Zantigo food. Its absolutely delicious. It would delightful if Zantigo would come back to WI. Now that I know there is one in Minnesota, next vacation trip I think we will take a ride to Minnesota. Thank you, Juan & Holly Ortiz

Fast-food Mexican chain known for made-to-order fresh food..
In Short
The original Zantigo restaurants were part of Zapata, a fast-food chain started by four Minneapolis businessmen in the early 1970s. After numerous ownership changes, former employees Don and Kevin Kaelble reopened the chain in White Bear Lake in 1992. Everything's fresh and made on the spot, making it a popular spot for young families. The most popular item by far is the "chilito," a flour tortilla filled with a mild or hot chili sauce-beef mixture.
