Too bad you're supposed to split it. Great steaks. Consistently cooked exactly to perfection. The 30 oz Steak for Two is truly a wonder to behold. Too bad you're supposed to split it.

What a great supper club. My wife and I tried the Lakeside(Al's Bunker mainly) and it was the best steak I've ever had. I've been to all the high priced steakhouses that serve ala cart, and there is no comparison. Meals come with salad, bread, choice of veggies, rice or potato. They also have a nice selection of Frank and Dean for music. If your looking for a nice night out without the high price of downtown, but better quality, go to the lakeside.

Great steak, high cost, no atmosphere. The steak is very good. For the cost i'd expect it to be, but the restaurant didn't match the costs on the menu. I'd take great food served in a diner for low cost or great food served in a fancy restaurant for high cost, but eating in a diner for the same cost as a nice restaurant is not worth it.

Service from our waitress was ok, good from others working there. My waitress joked about slapping me because I asked if they had balsamic dressing(she acted like it was caviar). Also meals are served large serving of fries or baked potato versus grilled vegetables or mashed potatoes.

Seated in non-smoking the small open room had ash trays on surrounding tables and when a table nearby lit up, the waitress grabbed them an ash tray. The food is good, but don't expect a great deal or a great atmosphere.

A wonderful surprise. Don't judge this Twin Cities treasure by the decor. Hidden in Mahtomedi, the upstairs Lakeside Club looks more Embers that Mannys or Morton's. I felt my waitress' name should have been Flo. But don't be fooled by looks because their fillet was the most flavorful, tender steak I've ever had. I also sampled their Center Cut Butt and the New York Strip which were also fantastic. Al's Bunker downstairs is where you would want to dine for a special occasion.
