Rude wait staff – I decided to check out moose country for my birthday.(february 26th) It was Birthday Tuesday night! The crowd was nice and the atmosphere was awesome! Also the food tasted good and they had a great variety of music for a club night scene. I was very disapointed in one thing though! Most of the staff was soooo sooo rude! From the door personal to the waitresses! I am not one to usually complain or write reviews, but I was very upset to the point that I wanted to leave. I did and cut my Birthday short for the night! There was everything from snotty pushy attitudes to an incident that really made me mad. I understand that it is very busy during this night(and I am a server as well, so i know this) But the wait staff actually push you aggressively out the way, rolling their eyes and mumbling comments! There was one in particular ...I was standing at the bar ordering another Birthday drink and The lady came and threw all the old drinks and ice stuff all over my pants. I was standing by what i later realized was the sink. I looked at her with my pants all wet and she just gave me real bad attitude like I was in her way and shoulda known. Then asked me if I was okay very rudely and before i could even answer she said "yeah Thats what I thought your fine" I couldn't beleive it! I wouldn't even had been mad if it was an accident but she was so mean! So my conclusion to this is, Don't hire people who don't like people and can't handle a busy enviroment! I won't go back!!!! And Either will my friends!
Adequate food, pleasant staff, too loud – Six of us ate here on a Saturday night (12 Jan). All in all, a pleasant experience, but one should know what to expect. As long as one realizes this is only slightly up-ticked bar food, there'll probably be no real disappointments. The onion rings and house salad were fine, and the "reddened" chicken over mashed potatoes with corn was quite edible. There are entree "sliders" - choice of filling in a small bun - which received mixed reviews, although the quantity (5 or 6 of them) couldn't be criticized. The sliders with deep-fried walleye were forgettable, but I tried someone else's pork filled and found them quite good with the accompanying chipotle(?) mayonnaise. The skillet chocolate chip cookie - served warm with ice cream - satisfied my chocolate addiction quite nicely. Reasonable value for the money and reasonably priced wine and beer. The ambience consisted of many wall-mounted severed heads - of animals, not humans - and approximately 4000 televisions (perhaps an exaggeration) tuned to sporting events not including curling. The TVs, at least on our visit, were much too loud. Our two servers, particularly the good-humored guy, played a large role in making it a pleasant evening. I would suggest, though, that anyone considering Moose Country should be aware that, while the food is fine this is principally a place for socializing.
No Bachelor Parties Allowed – They wouldnt allow a bachelor's party in. They said it was policy. Management was wishy washy in their communication skills, and hostile. They lost a lot of money, and management was very rude. I would avoid it on principle.
love it – Don't let the moose heads scare you. the food here is great! there is a variety also. I recommend the Minnesota wings.
Nick – Known for its great happy hours and Birthday Tuesdays, this bar / restaurant is a happening place. The staff is great from the waits / bartenders down to security (everyone is so friendly). The menu consists of upper scale sports bar food with mouth-watering walleye. My friends and I have been coming here for years and if youre a sports fan this is the place to be (the Wild coaches are known to frequent here). Once last thing about this place is its loyalty to regulars management is known to buy drinks to show their appreciation for your business.
Identity crisis – Although it's supposedly a western bar (stuffed moose head, etc), don't be surprised when the DJ starts blaring techno-music. Plenty of guys in shirts with the arms torn off along with mid-30s big-haired women. Average-priced beer, sub-par greasy bar-food and copious second-hand smoke top off this sad human circus.
Can't go wrong at the Moose! – Great food. Try the BLT, its like no other. It's amazing the array of choices and how well each is done. Tacos, pizza, buffalo burger, blt, etc. All excellent! Great location, atmosphere and service!
It's also the favorite restaurant of some local celeb's.
