Great Salads, Wings, Wine. We Love Doolittles. The wings are fantastic, woodfired, not deep fried. The salads are unique and generous. Anything from the woodfire is great! Ambiance is very nice, and the staff is friendly and personable. It's our favorite late evening place to go. They are definitely on their feet with the new menu and venue. I highly recommend them!

Decent for the area. If it is fine dining that you are after, this is not your place. There are several dishes that they do quite well here though and given the lack of options in the area, it is a fine choice. Most of the items from the woodfire oven are pretty flavorful. They are not as dried out as Bonfire down the road tends to make things and uses a more sensible variety of wood. I am a foodie so the implication that it is palatable to suburbanites that know no better is not accurate. In particular the buffalo wings (not traditional but a nice spin) and the pulled pork sandwich are notable and consistent. They also do burgers very well and have kept some of the pastas that people loved from their previous menu. We have been several times since they remodeled and while it is not as fancy as it is trying to be, to compare it to Applebees is perplexing.

I will never be back. We went here for dinner and some drinks one night. The food was slightly better than the dennys down the street, the drinks were overpriced. BUT on cliff there isnt much of an option. HOWEVER, we paid the bill with mostly cash and credit. Our waitress asked if we needed change, we said no. She ran the credit card and brought it back. Rather than taking the money she left it at the table. There was 3 of us there, all over 30 and professionally dressed. Two of us went into the bathroom and the other went to start the car. We left the building. The next thing i know the hostess was running after us, when he approached he stated that we needed to pay for our bill. I stated it was at the table that waitress left it there. He informed me they called the police and threatend to have us arrested for "dining and ditching". I asked why would we pay with credit card if we were trying to leave. No answer. I asked if they would question the employees. I was told they trust their staff. I asked if they would talk to the waitress who ask us if we needed change and NEVER collected it. They repeated themselves that they trust their employees. I think she stole it or someone else did. WE WERE FORCED TO REPAY OUR BILL. When i called the owner of the company (after trying to even talk to the general manager, that apparently didnt understand that we were victims as well) he said they could do nothing and were willing to do nothing. This was a terrible place that handeled a bad situation very badly. I would never go there again. I urge you not to as well.

Suburban doo-doo. This is yet another of the suburban restaurants that try to make mediocrity work with buzz words like "woodfire" and appealing decor. Don't let it fool you. If you are out for a beer and a burger it is passable but anything more than that and it is a stretch. After a first disappointment, we gave it another try becasue we live close but again it was terrible. Beware of the positive reviews - I fear that most suburbanites around this area are likely basing their opinion upon a recent visit to Applebees and have no clue as to what good food is supposed to taste like.

Even Perkins is Better Than This. Doolittle's used to be your basic American bar and restaurant. Within the past few years, they remodeled the place to make it appear like an upper level dinner establishment and revamped the menu to match. Unfortunately, they're unable to properly execute the upper level dishes.

My husband wanted to try Doolittle's again after a so-so meal there a year ago. We requested non-smoking and were asked if we were okay with sitting in the bar. The host said that it was a non-smoking section. Well, it wasn't because halfway through our meal, someone 3 feet away from started chain smoking. If you're going to let people at the bar smoke, then don't put a non-smoking section around the bar!!!

I ordered the fish tacos and my husband ordered seafood linguini dish. The fish tacos were good; it's pretty hard to mess up a simple dish like that. My husband's pasta was absolutely horrific. When our food arrived, there was this nasty smell that I couldn't place. Once my husband tasted it, I figured out it was way too much lemon juice. The pasta was supposed to have a sauce that was made from garlic, white wine, and lemon juice. What he actually got was a ton of lemon juice with a little bit a garlic; it was like someone just poured lemon juice over pasta.

The waitress took the meal back and allowed my husband to choose another entree. There was never any apology from the waitress or the manager who stopped by later. His replacement entree, chicken flatbread, arrived quickly but had way too much basil on it that had to be picked off. Also, as soon as we complained about my husband's pasta, they service immediately went from excellent to poor. It was very difficult to get our check.

Never, ever again. If you're in this area, I'd recommend Sambol's in Town Center near 35E and Yankee Doodle or The Roasted Pear in Burnsville on Co Rd 42 and Nicollet.
