Horrible Customer Service. I called in to get a second opinion about a serivce that was being done at another dealership and the service advisor here told me "that Ford would not cover that tow to their dealership"- which I didn't expect or ask about. He then proceeded to tell me that "I was getting too many people involved in my situation"- when I just simply wanted a second opinion. I was taken back at how degrading the service advisor I spoke to was, and what lack of customer service they have here. I will NEVER bring my truck here. Their service department is a complete disappointment.…
Finance process shady. I went to AVF to look at a used Fusion. I had the financing lined out through my credit union with a great rate already, but they talked me into letting the finance manager run my credit to see if I may qualify for a special rate through Ford Credit on the certified used car. I agreed. The finance guy thought they could get it done through Ford, so I OK'd him to submit it. I didn't end up buying the car there (I decided that it wasn't a smart financial decision given what I was already driving.) In the few weeks since, I have received credit denial letters from at least 6 banks. I worked in the car business for almost 10 years, and I know the tricks. I am also protective of my credit rating since starting over a few years ago, and I am irritated that this dealer submitted my app to so many banks. I did appreciate the patience that the salesman showed as I visited the dealership three times, driving multiple vehicles, while trying to make the best decision for me.…
Service. I bought a used car from this dealer and also purchased the extended warranty. In the 16 months I have had the car, it has been for service covered by the warranty 8 times, 4 times for the same problem. The shortest time it was in the service department was 4 days. They never tell you what is going on and when I do call them, I get different stories, some of which turned out to be lies. To top it off, the last time it was in they damaged both front fenders.…
Extended Service Plan. I recently purchased a 2011 Ford SuperDuty. At the time of purchase, I was also sold the extended service plan consisting of "8 oil changes, 8 fuel filter changes, transmission flush, brake maintenance" for the great price of $1500.00...covering all maintenance for the first 60,000 miles". Folks...that means oil change and fuel filter change every 7500 miles on a diesel truck, no other maintenance necessary. My problems started after the first oil change when I was actually told that my first fuel filter change didn't come until 15000 miles. No worries...still seemed like a good deal. When I made it to 15,000 miles, I was then told that my first fuel filter change wasn't due until it had 20,000 miles. As a result, I canceled the plan and received a pro-rated credit for the unused portion of the service plan. I ended up paying $255.00 for each oil change. The staff at Apple Valley Ford was no help at all, they are still unable to provide information regarding the maintenance plan that they so conveniently recommend. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Minnesota. I would definatly rate this dealership a big fat ZERO.…
