Emphasizing natural habitats and education, this 500-acre suburban zoo is home to 2,400 animals. Pigs, chickens and other domesticated animals spend their days at the Wells Fargo Family Farm exhibit. It's also home to three cloned cows. The 600-seat 3-D Imax theater is one of the largest in the country. An aquarium lets you touch sharks and sea urchins and watch performing dolphins. The zoo often features big-name stars in its Weesner Family Amphitheater.

I can't believe the reviews here, either. There are over 2000 animals, representing 500 species. These people who didn't see animals must be blind or just not sure what an animal looks like. The animals at Como are in small, concrete inclosures, unfit for living. It's cruel. During the winter, they keep the giraffe in a 10 by 10 pen - for months!! That's the reason you don't see African animals at the MN zoo. There, they do what is best for the animal. In other words, they care. And as far as the price is concerned, have you been to Sea World lately? It's like $80 per person!! $12 at the MN zoo is cheaper than most zoos - most decent zoos, that is.

Great family fun spot. The new Russia exhibit is great and the Minnesota exhibit has been remodeled. Friendly and knowledgeable volunteers all around. Lots of interactive stuff for the kids to learn from.

Most people think of going to the Zoo in summer, but this Zoo is just as visitable in summer as it is in winter. Most of the exhibits are indoors. If you are adventurous, you can still venture outdoors in Winter.

When to Go:
The zoo is open until 6pm every day when the weather's warm.

The Imax theater and monorail both charge admission in addition to the main entrance fee. The zoo's discount package gets you into both the Imax and the zoo. Group discounts also available.
Know Before You Go:
Because nearly 400 species are kept in natural areas, including open fields, sometimes they're not visible to visitors. A monorail ride can sometimes help you spot them.
