A good "discount" movie theatre.
White Bear Theatre is a fun theatre to see a movie at. I've been attending this theatre since about the turn of the century and I've never had a horrible experience. The food is cheaper than many
other theatres (although still a rip off in the broader picture) and the ticket prices are decent. The old lady selling tickets is unstoppable and seems like she could sell tickets in her sleep.
The staff is fun and seems to enjoy their job. They like to read books and laugh very loudly. A good amount of the employees are rather short. This theatre seems to have an overall younger staff than many other theatres in the area, such as AMC Rosedale or Marcus in Oakdale. Once in a while a surly and menacing old man shreds tickets, although he did say "enjoy the show," so he can't be that bad. One time a woman who seemed to be a supervisor shrieked at her subordinate about something. It was kind of scary but amusing at the same time. Others around me wondered what happened. Besides that, the employees are all very nice and conversational.
The auditoriums themselves are decent but very cheap and showing their age. The owner or whomever should open up their wallet and spend some money on refurbishing the place, as one of the auditoriums I was in a few weeks ago was leaking water (and by leaking, I mean pouring) out of the ceiling. Thankfully it wasn't over the seats.
Overall, I'd recommend White Bear Township theatre to my friends.…
