Not sure about boarding, but great grooming!. I've lived nearby for a long time and didn't realize that grooming was available here until recently. I thought it would be convenient and tried it out. My dog has never looked better! The groomer took time to ask details about the trim I wanted, and my puppy seemed really relaxed with her. It's a bonus to be able to drop her off early and leave her while I work at no extra cost.

I see the reviews about the boarding, I don't know about that part of it but we will definitely be back for the next haircut!

Concerned Owner!. I completely agree with Bella's mom! We had our dog there over Christmas break too. We met with Jenny the manager there and she was very polite and patient with us. We had our dog there once before and when Jenny brought her out she was very happy and wagging her tail. When we came to pick her up over Christmas we came to find out that Jenny was no longer at the kennel. Our dog is very social, but when we picked her up she was scared of other dogs and didn't seem to want to be around them. We brought her home and she didn't want to eat which was a huge concern on our part since she loves to eat.

I'm never going back to that kennel again!! But we do hope to find Jenny again!!!! She was amazing with our dog who tends to be oh so very shy around people!

I'm in high hopes Jenny contacts us!!

Lone Lake Kennels in Woodbury. We boarded our dog over a year ago at this facility. When we picked her up we noticed a large 1.5 cut on her inner thigh. We requested, and paid for group play with other dogs. We let the injury go, because we assumed that it was from her leg breaking through the ice-crusted high snow. Our dog seemed traumatized from this experience psychologically, since she is an omega and a rescue. A couple of days later, she finally came around again to being herself.

We boarded her again on the recent Christmas weekend. I explained to Jenny, the manager, that our dog was very omega, and that I did not want to see any cuts on her like last year. I also requested that she be in a play group with like tempered dogs. She assured me that this would be done. On Monday Dec. 26 at 10:15 a.m. we arrived to pick up our dog. There was not a soul around, although the office was open with three small dogs roaming around. We rang the bell, but still nobody came out. Finally, my husband called the kennel phone number. When the gentleman came out, I asked him if our dog had been fed. He assured me that she had. I asked him if she played with other dogs while there. He said that they didn't charge us for it, but "she had been out". We paid the bill, and my husband was going to take her out to the car, but she urgently had to relieve herself. She urinated for a VERY LONG TIME, AND THE URINE WAS VERY CONCENTRATED. (indicating she had not been out since the evening before. Remember, it was 10:15 a.m., so she probably had to hold it for well over 12 hours, which is the limit for a healthy dog). We proceeded to drive home, but were interrupted by our dog's insistence on being let out of the car to defecate. She couldn't wait to get home, and we do not live that far away. After we arrived home she had to defecate AGAIN. (another indication that she had not been left out on a timely basis). She then proceeded to drink dirty water out of our bird bath, which she never does if she has her own fresh water (an indication that she was probably fed, but not given enough or any water).

I am a former veterinary technician, so I do have some knowledge about animals and their behaviors. We will NEVER BOARD OUR DOG HERE AGAIN. I do not care how cheap this place is. You get what you pay for. The customer has to be able to trust the persons to whom they have entrusted their pet. That did not happen in this case. To say that we were very dissappointed would be an understatement. We do not recommend this kennel to anyone who cares about their pet.

FALSE CLAIMS!. Okay let me start off by saying whoever wrote this review is false. I'm the new manager at the kennels,. The great "certified" staff?? First off the old staff was never certified. The people who work currently have over 30 years experience COMBINED! The dog that was almost "ran" over was NEVER true. And the assumed "dblanks" you are under a FALSE idenity. All of these claims you have made are false and complete insanity. We take the pride in ALL dogs that come to visit. Also I have visited many of the St. Paul dog parks in hope of finding the bottom line of all of these false and horrible claims only to find that people are still in love with this company. Any one associated with the kennel prior to June 4, 2011 HAS NO IDEA what is going on here. It is new and changed 100%. If these so called claims you say are true I DARE you to come to my kennel and see how its changed.

This "dblanks" character has shown up on several reviews. I have no idea why old employees are trying to ruin the reputation of a kennel. I want everyone from here on out to know that the kennel is changed no one from the old staff is here, and everyone that is there now cares for all the dogs.

If there are any concerns or questions you may call the kennel at any time. The place is not "horrible" we have changed everything. Come down and see for yourself.

Once Great, Now HORRIBLE!!!. If you're looking for a doggy daycare, then you obviously love and want the very best for your pet. Therefore, PLEASE DO NOT take them to Lone Lake Kennels. My wife and I used to love this place. Our dog loved it as well. That was then.

Now, The great certified and talented staff of dog specialists are gone, and there are now people there who don't watch the dogs or even break up any altercations between the dogs. Furthermore, our dog was almost ran over by a car because it had escaped by an open fence. That's on top of the fact that we were many times not notified that he was out of food. Many dogs were even missing much needed medication feedings. Many of us former customers are now getting the word out as much as possible, which is why there are so many new reviews. This is also why this place is currently under investigation.

There is SO much more to add, but it would only make this review sound phony and made up. The owner defends himself by actually responding to these using the name of a former employee that left. If you really want the real stroy behind this place...you don't have to take my word for it. Just go to the local Saint Paul dogparks and ask. Bottom line...this place is HORRIBLE!!!

Stay Away From Lone Lake Kennels!!. I was taking our 2yr old dog to Lone Lake Kennels for over a year. The first few times we took our dog there things were realatively normal. We were always greeted by a happy couple of ladies; Michele and Nikki. They were excellent with the care, concern and love of animals and it showed.

As time went on we noticed several uncomfortable situations. We were greeted at the main desk by someone who obviously knew nothing about the clients or their pets. On several occasions I noiced the owner smelling of alcohol very early in the morning. I kept thinkng about Nkki and Michelle being more on top of things and that made it easier to deal with the other circumstances. Things continued to decline!! Several times I brought our dog in and no one was there to open up. Several times this resulted in my being late for work. Then two times when they brought my dog out to go home, they had the front door wide open and let my dog out loose without her leash. One particular time she ran off and I paniced thinking about her getting to Bailey Road and the large amount of traffic there. Then all of a sudden the good staff started disappearing and the place was run by the owner and his girlfriend, this is when the dog got out of the kennel and was killed.

I also find it interesting that the reviews from Michelle for her 10 years of service are from one employee thats no longer with Lone Lake.. Finally, the reviews for Woodburys best award are appalling, You've got to be kidding!!!!!!

Not safe for animals. I have been a customer at Lone Lake Kennels for a while and all that I can say about it is: "please don't let your dog stay there if you want safety for your animal". The owner was drink on many occasions, and our dog ran outside because of an unlocked gate, luckily we were just leaving and were not far so we noticed it and got our dog. The dogs play unsupervised and no one is there to break a fight or tend to any other type of urgency. The place used to be better when they had employees who cared - but now it is an aweful place.

Love the groomer. I love the new groomer here! She is professional and listens to your ideas and requests. My dog has never looked better. The price is reasonable and the dog doesn't have to stay all day. I was able to drop the dog off early before work with no extra charges. A great change from the expensive shishi salons with all of the extra charges. We will definitely be bringing our havanese back and will be recommending the grooming here to our friends.
