National chain known for family friendly, traditional American fare..
In Short
Hand-held video games keep the kids busy while you wait for your meal, and you won't wait long: Efficient, unobtrusive service is the norm. Expect moderately priced burgers, melt sandwiches, bread-bowl salads, and steak, chicken and seafood dishes, all served in a no-frills coffee-shop atmosphere. Breakfast, featuring omelets and light, fluffy pancakes, is offered 24 hours, and limited lunch specials are promised to arrive promptly.
Every @#%$&*%!! Time!!. I have to admit, the food is not bad. I can find something for everyone on a night I don't want to cook. WHAT IS SO DAMN HARD ABOUT CUTTTING ONIONS??? Okay, too much aggression, however, I love the granny's omelet. I like it with the onions cut up very small. I also like the same diced fried onions (and cheese) on my hash browns. What is so difficult about that? Well, everytime they screw it up (100% so far) it's free. So just ask for Diced onions (even on the 'side') and get a free meal. Or just go to IHOP, they know what 'diced' means.
Always disappointing. It's amazing: we always know Perkins will be bad, yet we patronize anyway. I guess after 1am, when you're drunk, it truly is the only place to get something solid in your stomach. But that's where the logic ends. The service is almost always bad, the food is normally questionable, and the drones at the cash register are dangerously close to being incarcerated. If you go, order something cheap (like fries). Any meal is way overpriced and goes through you quicker than it went in. Late nights on weekends, these places are typically overrun by obnoxious, chain-smoking teeny-boppers with nowhere to go. Expect the least from Perkins, and you'll only occasionally be disappointed.
