WORST Customer Service.
Na's Thai Cafe has the WORST customer service I have ever encountered. Eat/takeout at your own risk.
I ordered takeout from them, they gave me the wrong entree, and they refused to do anything about it. I ordered chicken curry, and they gave me a soup with tons of mushrooms in it. When I called to tell them, the owner's daughter started telling me they gave me the correct dish. When I persisted and explained that they gave me a soup with tons of mushrooms in it in a plastic container, she said their chicken curry doesn't come in a plastic container. I said, "Exactly. You gave me the wrong dish." The owner's daughter called me the next day to tell me, "I talked with the owner and the cook who was working that night, and unfortunately, there is nothing we can do for you."
End of story.
Great Thai Food.
I have had Thai food around town and this is by far the best. My son and I have been to Thailand on a few occations. Na's is very close to the real thing. We like the Tom Yum Soup, Spicy beef salad, Shrimp dishes and the fried rice.... The pad Tai .. well it can be done better.
We really are thrilled that there is a great Thai restaurent in the suburbs.
Great Fresh Healthy Food. Very good, fresh food served with some style. It was a lot better than my wife and I expected. We enjoyed our dishes and will be back!
Something's Missing. I see many glowing reviews, however, anyone who knows decent Thai food knows this isn't the best or most value-oriented place for the Thai experience. Case in point, my Pad See Ew was seasoned with black pepper over what appeared to be oodles of noodles. Having spent a couple years in SF, I feel I can claim to know decent Thai when I taste it; Na's falls well short.
Don't let this restaurant go out of business!. This restaurant has some of the best Thai food I've ever had. I order it once a week and it is consistently delicious. The soups and curry are fanstastic. The shrimp dishes are excellent, as are the fried rice dishes. I don't like the pad thai, as it uses too much fish sauce in my opinion. Get your order mild if you want it a little spicy. They mean business with their spices! I have noticed they had to close on Sundays and have recently raised the prices. I worry that it will go out of business and I'll be stuck without any nearby Thai. The restaurant itself is not anything fancy, so I prefer take out like the other reviewer.
Excellent Tha for take out. Excellent Thai - but i recommend it for takeout. service if you decide to eat in the restaurant is 'ok'. I prefer to pick up my food, take it home, curl up on the couch with a great movie and enjoy a tasty meal! I have been to thailand MANY times and this place comes pretty darn close to the real macoy. The pad thai dish is the best in town in my opinion. The curry stir frys - all excellent. Soups - excellent. The family that owns this place is from Thailand - so here's the deal - they DON'T have egg rolls or spring rolls in asia people - that' s something we created here in the USA. Going to a real thai restaurant like this will offer excellent native dishes, they only offer the spring rolls because that's an american thing. Go for the native dishes and you will enjoy this place immensely. Yum! can't wait to go back!
Let down by poor service.
Food was good but service was appalling. Seated very promptly but then waited over 10mins to see our server and have our order taken (it was obvious we were waiting). A further 15-20mins for the starter and my beer to arrive and then 2mins later the main course turned up, slightly hotter than luke warm.
The issue here is they don't have enough staff - 3 people to wait tables, manage takeouts and seat people isn't enough, especially if a group over 4 comes in; kitchen obviously backs up easily as well. If we use them again, it will be takeout only.
Yummy and inexpensive!. We have visted Na's a few times in the last few months and the food is always great. We usually get take out and you can't beat the prices. We get eggrolls and a dish like pad thai or chicken fried rice and it's a delicious, inexpensive meal for 2!
Could Be Better. I wish I could write a glowing review of Na Thai. I ordered take-out that was quite lackluster in comparison to the other great Thai restaurants in town. The fresh spring rolls were hastily put together and were both split down the middle. There were very few vegetables mixed in with the abundant noodles, and the crumbles of pork were so dry they were almost gaggy. I didn't see any shrimp in either roll. The tofu curry, although nicely spiced, was overly sweet and the vegetables were limp and soggy. I'm not sure if the experience would be any different if we ate in the restaurant. Not sure I'm going to try again.
Offbeat delight. I have eaten in Thai restaurants in a number of states and countries and find this to be an excellant choice for authentic Thai food. I was prompted to write this rating in response to the person who recommended the Chang Mai. The writer must work for them as my experience there was as one of the worst Thai restaurants in the cities. If being a former host at another poor example of a restaurant that peddles Thai food qualifies one to open a popular trendy ethnic restaurant that serves oriental items that have no resemblance to good Thai food and patronized by people who think TB serves good Mexican food then I might agree
