Poor customer service – Had Sunday brunch with my family. It was super crowded so we had to use the valet service. The food was pretty good and view was great from the deck in the back.
When I got home I noticed that my lanyard on my car keys was missing. I have a push button ignition on my car, so I didn't check my keys until I got home.
I called the restaurant back and spoke with the valet manager and told her what happened. She did not apologize to me, and did not even know what a lanyard was. She then suggested that it probably fell off, and told me she would have someone look into it and call me back.
A few hours later with no call back, I call again, this time speaking to the night manager at the restaurant. She said she would get someone to call back again, but still no apologies or assurance that it will get resolved or any sort of compensation. The first lady I spoke with called me back and was very terse in speaking, and when I asked for an apology, she said she had no reason to apologize to me. Finally she said she would get someone to purchase a replacement and mail it to me.
tl.dr - Valet service lost/stole my lanyard. Managers have no customer service skills.
Nice View ... Bad Service – The only thing good about this place was my drink and even that wasn't the best I've ever had. Had the Walleye Fish and Chips. The Tartar Sauce was glorified mayo and the cole slaw had no seasoning at all. I can forgive mediocre food but the service was HORRIABLE. It was a monday afternoon - hate see what it is like when it is actually busy. Took forever to get our drink orders, had to ask for water refills and wasn't even offered dessert. Our waiter had the personality of a rock. Won't be back too many other reataurant to try -
Fun atmosphere, tasty food! – Always a fun place to go! The food is great, I love the buffalo chicken flatbread! I have dealt with both friendly and attentive staff, as well as the occassional rude waitress. When it gets really busy, sometimes we've had to wait for a while for service. I've had more good experiences than bad. It is my favorite lakeside restaurant in the area, so I will definitely come here again and again!
Tasted Like a Hot Pocket – We went on a Monday evening and sat outside by the water. While the view was nice, the limited bar menu was expensive. Sandwiches were between $10-$13. We got the Walleye sandwich and the grilled chicken panini. Both tasted like a hot pocket. Service wasn't that great either. I'll never go back here.
Maynards Rogers does not care about you or their service – I have never had a good experience at Maynards... 2 out of 4 visits my order was completely wrong (and not fixed), waited 20 minutes for a drink order & gave up and went to the bar myself. I could go on and on.... I've sent a letter to the manager explaining why I will never come back and he never even acknowledged it. Forget it, Maynards does not care about you or the service they provide.
Seven dollars for one beer, and then you beg the server to bring another – Okay food and a nice view of the lake, but the service is terrible. After being seated, we had to beg for every drink refill and the server left all of the used plates to pile up in front of us. If you are going to pay this much money for food and drink you would probably save money by renting a boat. Even the bartender and hostesses were rude to customers. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
awesome food, and views – maynards has always had great food, and service. the lake is an added bonus, and if I had to recommend some items off the menu I would say you must get the waffle fries, and the buffalo chicken wrap... you won't be disappointed. Then go to the bar and get a great drink. The deck is awesome in the summer, but always packed, especially on weekends. The beer is always great.
Great Happy Hour – The Rogers location is great for happy hour. The menu is inexpensive and has diverse options: spicey green beans, buffalo shrimp, several flat breads, steak bites, lettuce wraps and more. Serice is fairly good.
Brunch was a bust – The Elk River Maynards has the strangest brunch I've every attended. Sweet and sour chicken and chow mein? I wasn' t sure if I was at a Asian "all you can eat" place or brunch. The worst thing, however, was the service which was horrible - we had to beg for coffee and water. I would not recommend this place.
Editorial Review by Annamarie Cumpston – Diverse menu options--Cajun to American--and a killer view of Lake Minnetonka draw locals to this Excelsior tavern.
