I met a friend there on a Saturday for lunch/drinks. He got there before me, and waited 10 minutes before the server - who had been chatting with another server at the bar approached for a drink order. After I arrived, I waited 10 minutes, then went to the bar for a beer. Another 20 minutes passed, she was back chatting, would not make eye contact, so we estimated our tab and left to have lunch at Decoys instead, where the service was fabulous.

Plenty of seating, and good food. Not quite as lively or distinctive as the Big 10 near the university, but good nonetheless. There is quite a bit more seating at this one. It is located in downtown Hopkins... not a lot of street parking but there is a lot and a parking ramp within a block. Both of which can fill up quickly on popular movie nights but in general you will find something. They have outdoor seating as well. It is basically what you'd expect for a sports bar... standard grill food and a variety of beers

Big Ten has the BEST subs in the midwest! Even at the Hopkins location, you can bring yourself back to your U of MN college days with these deliciously gooey, greasy, lettuce-overflowing subs. They are simple, yet oh-so-good. The seasoned crisscut fries are also great for sharing, as is the cheesey tomato bread (also gooey, greasy, and delicious!). You get the great tastes of the campus location here, but with a more spacious environment and easier parking. It's a great place to meet with friends, too.
