Hi, I have gone to this restaurant many times over the last 5 years, its been very good until the last three months, the buffet is always cold now, ie: the egg rolls cut in 1/2 face down, chicken and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken all cold, heck even the plates are cold, not clean and chipped. if you arrive at 12 30 or 1 pm you are told you get what is left. the owners wife is very very rude and the service is poor. that's really an understatement.. if you arrive when they open the food is not even out and can take 15 to 30 minutes wait for the buffet to be ready.
Here we go...
the last time I ate there mid February 2014 on a Monday, the buffet was very poor, I had 2 almond cookies in my hand as I was paying my bill, I was late to get going and I was literally yelled at for stealing the two almond cookies. You put them back on the buffet she scolded me. I asked if the fortune cookie to go was stealing too. Just a real dirty look.
As time goes by I have found that there are other restaurants in the area that want my business and they are very good Chinese restaurants. And take out business for dinner at this restaurant is 35 to 45 dollars a family order is nothing to say not expensive. for what you get.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless they want cold food, very bad service, rude owners and a cold lunch buffet. you be the judge.
I believe in supporting local restaurants but they have to put out a quality product and own the process of being a guest centered business.
Food ok, terrible service – My daughter wanted take out Chineese food for dinner so stopped in at Bejing for my first time. Was never greeeted, but looked at. They had a sign outside advertising lunch and dinner specials, so I inquired and the woman said they didn't have any. As I was looking through the menu I noticed a "dinner specials" menu on the counter next to her, so I asked her about that menu. She informed me it's only for dine in customers, quite rudely. So I ordered a standard sesame chicken dinner with fried rice to go, and my bill was over $14. I know many chineese restuarants where two people can eat for that amount AND.. they are very cordial and happy to have you at their establishment. I don't think our family will be going back to this place.
Best Chinese in the West Metro, if not the entire Twin Cities! – I'm a Chinese food junkie. Most of my life has been spent on a constant quest for the best Chinese Restaurant, and I was lucky enough to find it over ten years ago at Beijing Mkta!
Beijing Mtka remains my favorite Chinese restaurant in the cities! The prices are reasonable, the food is very good and very consistant, and the atmosphere of the dining room, while simple, is very comfortable.
The sesame chicken and beef and broc are among my favorites, the chicken fried rice can't be beat, and the hot & sour soup is amazing!
I have recommended Beijing to many of my friends who are now regular diners.
better than most – food is consistent and good. daily buffet. service is ok. pleasant enough ambience. good value and a
cut above the competition
