Great Service & Great Prices

Tips for Metro Air

January 21, 2013

Metro Air has been there for me with my heating and cooling needs for my properties. Their response time is very good and far better than other companies I have used in the past. They are knowledgeable, efficient, and get everything done on time.

It was impressive to see them work. They were clear about what it would take to to the job, were fair with the pricing and efficient in the installation. Bottom line they did what they said with no expectations.

I recommend Metro Air without hesitation. It is nice to find a company that understands busy schedules and the need to get things done. When our air conditioner broke during a streak of 90 degree days plus this summer they responded quickly.

Installers were here on time, worked hard to complete the install in the time they had said. They were neat, and careful while doing the work. the new furnace and A/C are working just fine. We appreciate the good service we received.

Incompetent at Best. Metro Air of Prior Lake, MN was used by my general contractor in Oct 2000 to install the heating and cooling system in a new house. One of the elements of that system was a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV). During our first winter in the house, I noticed the HRV wasn't doing the job of keeping condensation from forming on the windows. After troubleshooting it for a few minutes, I discovered Metro had installed a one-way valve in the ducting backwards. I called Metro after fixing it myself and the person I spoke with chuckled, and said that sometimes happens. Made me question how they got the numbers indicating proper airflow in the HRV! If this had been the only issue, I wouldn't have written this review all these years later. However, several years ago, I noticed there was no airflow from the register in the upstairs bath. Since I'm selling the house, I disclosed that fact. I agreed to fix the problem prior to closing. Turns out Metro had struck again--12 feet of ducting leading from the exterior wall of the house in the basement toward the plenum had not been installed!. I spent over 3 days removing the ceiling, installing the ducting, and then re-installing and finishing the ceiling. (I've uploaded photos showing where the ductwork was missing--don't know whether they'll be approved yet.) For this reason, I strongly suggest you avoid doing business with Metro Air. If you think I should have given Metro the chance to make this good, you're missing the point--it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Tip to Metro: Before leaving a job-site for the last time, run the systems and CHECK EVERY REGISTER FOR AIRFLOW!

Horrible Heating Company!!!. Unprofessional, poor craftmanship, expensive, and they had to return 4 times to complete one job!! Very rude employees were not willing to explain. Sold me a Carrier and installed a Bryant / they switched the label on the unit!!! Either they are dumb or just trying to rip me off..... beware!
