Tips for Spice Thai Cuisine

Best Thai in the south metro. Spice has become a tradition for my daughter and I, a nice place to sit and have a meal my husband doesn't like - while he's out with our son. I love that they have a children's menu - my 2 yr old always gets the chicken nuggets.

My favorite thing about Spice is that even after we learned my daughter was allergic to peanuts, I knew we had been there before - but just in case, told the waitress. Now everytime we come, they remember her - and prepare her dish "separately" just in case.

Love it Love it Love it!!!!!. Everything about this restaurant is AWESOME! My fiance and I used to live 10 minutes from Spice and would eat there once every two weeks. We now live 45 minutes away, in Woodbury, and we still drive all the way to Savage- just to eat at Spice!!! Our favorites are the green papaya salad and tom yum soup. They're both to die for- and I've never gotten the same taste at any other Thai restaurant. On top of the great food, the staff is great too! The owner stops by to say hi to us every time we're there; it really feels like we're part of the Spice family when we eat there! Yum yum!

(Wish I were there eating now!)

Passable Thai, especially for the southern suburbs. This was a passable Thai restaurant. As a dedicated foodie who hadn't had Thai food in more than 4 months (it's my favorite), I was more than happy to overlook some uneven seasoning in the initial take-out order I got from them. It was harder to overlook some glaring omissions the next time I went there and dined in. The tofu appetizer was served piping hot and steaming - but they forgot the crushed peanuts and chopped cilantro, which were the main reasons I ordered the dish. (To be fair, the waitress was very attentive and brought me the proper accompaniments as soon as I alerted her to the mistake.) My fiance ordered the Panang curry, which was delightful. In fact, I ended up eating more of his dinner than I did my own - the mixed vegetable rice dish was far more bland than I would have expected. However, since I ate his dish instead, and took mine home in a box - it was quite tasty reheated the next day with a spash of fish sauce from my own pantry. I wouldn't take anyone there that I wanted to impress - but it definitely satisfied my 4-month craving for Thai food. The ambience is nothing special, but nice enough that you aren't worried about food sanitation. The service was top-notch, which counts for a lot. I get the feeling that if you come in when they're slow, you could order off the menu and probably get yourself an amazing meal.

Great service and great food.. We went on a Friday evening and its wasn't too busy. We got the best service, the waitress who i said she was the sister of the owner, was very charming and recommend the curry seafood dish. It was really good. We love Thai food and this is one of the best in the Twin Cities. I wish they were closer to the city.

Awesome thai and great service!. Our order was take out and it was fabulous food. The restaurant was nice so we look forward to dining in on our next visit. Much nicer ambiance than most restaurants on the south side. The food was to die for. We order Curry puffs, Fried Spring Rolls, Pork Pad Thai and a chicken sweet and sour dish. Each item was a delight to eat. I can only imagine how good they will be when we dine in. The hostess was great too. Since we were new to the restraunt, she was helpful in recommending items we might enjoy. She also brang out samples of some of the sauces as we waited for our order. The peanut sauce was excellent! Five stars on this one. Can't wait to go back!

Outstanding Thai Food!!. Excellent Thai food...give it a try! The curry puff appetizers, Pad Thai noodles, and Chu Chee (fried seafood or walleye in a red curry cocnut sauce) are all standouts. Their wonton soup and Som Tum (papaya salad) are delicious as well. Don't forget to ask for a "spice tray" on the side if you like things spicy! And if you have room for dessert, the Thai custard with sweet sticky is amazing.

Excellent Thai Food at Spice Thai. My family and I have eaten at Spice Thai Cuisine numerous times and had a variety of appetizers, entrees, noodle dishes and fried rice. We try at least one new selection at each visit and have not been disappointed. Just to mention a few. Our favorite appetizers are the Fresh Spring Rolls and Cream Cheese Puffs, but also recommend the Curry Puffs. Favorite entrees are the Pla Sam Ros Walleye (excellent), Pad Prig Pao and Pad Holy Basil. Favorite Noodle dish is the Pad Thai Woon Sen and the favorite fried rices are the Pineapple Fried Rice and Thai Fried Rice.

For dessert, you must try the Mango and Sweet Sticky Rice.

The spice level is not overly spicy.

All of the food has been extremely tasteful and the portions are plentiful.

The Spice Thai Cuisine Restaurant is definitely worth the visit.

Thai Comes to the Southern Suburbs!!!. Congratulations to Chad Sukhtipyaroge and his wife Xandra for bringing authentic Thai cuisine to the southern suburbs! Spice Thai Cuisine is a welcome addition to an area that can use many more quality ethnic restaurants. STC is set in a small strip mall on Country Rd 42 and the looks from outside are deceiving. Inside STC is quite spacious with a nice decor. The food is consistently very good. Soups excel as do the traditional regulars such as Pad Thai (try STC woon sen version), curries, and fresh spring rolls. STC is very kid friendly and have added chicken fingers for those little ones not daring enough to try something new. Give STC a shot. You will find it well worth not having to go into town to enjoy decent Thai food.

Best Thai south of the river!. I have been waiting for a restaurant daring enough to add a little "Spice" to the south of the river mix. Really good food with great prices! It's our new staple.
