Friendly service. Good drinks.. The food was good, it just tasted good, but it almost tasted like somebody that was good making mexican food invited you to eat at their house more than restaurant food. Salsa was great. Service was nice also. Good drinks. Good value.

Best Mecican Restaurant in the Twin Cites Area. I've been working at Pablo's since August of 2007. The food is to die for. That may be bias, but the reason i wanted to work there is because i loved there food. I highly recomend this place, and ordering a "Mucho Grande" Thats a buritto, enchilada, taco, and rice or beans. I'm a cook and I can tell you that we always use clean plates and stuff. We also get many comments about how clean the restaurant is. There are three things I don't like about Pablo's. The small work space the cooks have, The insanely busy Friday, and Saturday nights, and the size of the restaurant. We get more and more successful each year, and the restaurant cannot grow any more. To sum things up this is definately worth a shot. Generally the people that don't like Pablo's just aren't fans of mexican food.

Ho-Hum, not worthy of the hype. I'm new to the Twin Cities and I was looking for a mexican place that could become my favorite while I'm staying here. After looking over the reviews on CitySearch I decided to give Pablo's a try. My girlfriend and I ended up there on a Saturday night at around 8:45 pm. The parking lot was not well lit, and there was maybe 10 people in the place. Once inside it took the staff about 3 minutes to realize we were there. Once seated our waitress provided us water, 2 cups of salsa and some stale chips that tasted like they had just come out of the bag. We ordered one of their very large burritos and a combination platter, all chicken, with a taco, burrito, an enchildada, and rice. The waitress had to come back and ask if I wanted rice or beans.

The food arrived hot, but the large burrito that other reviewers found to be good was more lettuce than anything else. The tea was flat, thankfully the rootbeer I ordered on a whim was good. The decor of the place was kitschy, I wondered if the Corona beer guy left most of his marketing materials there and they used it to add ambience to the place. I hate to be negative but this is not a place I would recommend. I've ate Mexican food in many places and tried many variations...this was...just underwhelming, and IMHO not worth the drive from anywhere in the Twin Cities to try. Look elsewhere.

Best Mexican food - worth the drive. This is by far the best Mexican food around. It's worth the drive to experience it, too. It's gets a little crowded on weekends but definitely worth the wait. Everything I've had there is good. And the staff is so nice. Give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it.

This popular, friendly cantina is consistently packed with suburban families and sweethearts in the mood for Mexican.. In Short
Like many a Southern California Mexican restaurant, this brightly colored, festive eatery gives patrons the feeling that they stepped into a friend's casa for a home-cooked meal. That's no coincidence; the owners relocated from the Golden State in the 1980s to open this family-owned, family-frequented cantina. Shakopee suburbanites crowd in for Mexican staples like margaritas, loaded nachos, fish tacos with avocado cream sauce and chiles rellenos--fried green peppers stuffed nightly by Pablo himself.

Pablo's never fails to be great. We eat at Pablo's VERY OFTEN because it never fails to be a good experience for everyone. It is very family-friendly and great for large groups. The food is wonderful - I highly recommend the chile rellenos and tortilla soup. The salsa is so fresh-tasting and you can buy containers of as take out (so the menu says - and someday I will do this). The staff is always very welcoming, accommodating, polite, and speedy. Also - get a "cactus margarita" - I am hooked on them!

User review by kchellse. I had heard a lot about how great the shredded beef burrito was and it did not disappoint. What was disappointing was half way though the meal one of the employees decided it was time to vacuum the dinning room! It was an hour before closing and there were 5 tables still eating. I could not hear my wife the rest of the meal!

Best Mexican in the Twin Cities. This restaurant has been around for 20 years, the best Mexican I have tasted since leaving California. They have excellent tamales and pork that they just started offering this past year otherwise the enchiladas and chile rellanos are to die for. If you are in for a margarita try their ultimate it is the greatest and for groups they offer towers of margaritas at a great price and their fun 120 ounces of margaritas delivered to your table. This place is a must to try

Really good Enchiladas!!. I've been to Pablo's probably 30 times for lunch or dinner. Fabulous Mexican food, although it's the typical "americanized" Mexican food. This place beats Don Pablo's any day of the week.

My favorites are the Grande Burrito and the Enchiladas Especial. I like them stuffed with the shredded spicy beef, but chicken is good as well.

The addition of the Senor Mosquitos bar has been great. A decent place to go for happy hour after work and then head to the restaurant for dinner.

Nice work, Pablo!!
