An understated, but definite moneyed feel in the dining room includes honey-colored wood booths with etched glass panels above that separate, and velvety seat cushions below that soften. While Frank Sinatra croons over the sound system, carnivores dig into Gianni's juicy Delmonico rib eye, shrimp scampi and peppery grilled pork chops. Side orders are for sharing: mashed potatoes, cheese-stuffed hash browns.

I love this place. Right before I had my baby I went here. Usually you should make a reservation and be dressed business casual. When I went most recently my contractions were 10 minutes apart and I was dilated to 3. I had been laboring at home for 34 hours. I showed up no reservation, looking like I had not showered in weeks, sweat pants, T shirt. I told the hostess I did not have a reservation, it took her 15 minutes to find us a table (not a bad wait for a restaurant on a Saturday night). When she seated us she realized that I was in labor. So, they did rush our food. I was about half way through my steak when oops water broke. I was on my 5th child so I thought I was a pro at knowing when to get to the hospital, wrong. But, no problem at Gianni's the waitress discretely went two tables down, and came back with a gentleman who introduced himself to me as Dr. John. He was an OB, in fact the whole group he was with was all doctors. He checked me out told me to relax, felt the baby for movement, and called the paramedics. When, they got there the doctors and my husband put me in the ambulance, at this point contractions were less than a minute apart. The kind waitress brought me my steak in a wonderful to go container, along with a whole chocolate cake on the house. We usually go in groups of 4 and dinner costs around $200. I recommend this for anyone looking for a great meal, along with the best spun salad you will ever taste.

The place tries to be a Mini-Manny's and completely misses the mark. It's like shooting a free throw and not hitting any rim. Runny creamed spinach, inedible clams, so-so steak, servers with a lame I-got-attitude tired game and limp expensive steaks. The playing card/ acoustical tile ceiling speaks to them just not getting it. No charm, no service, and no flavor. Why can't Wayzata get some decent food?

Diehard Manny's fan, told by numerous to try Gianni's. Man is this place overrated. Went on a Monday night, dining room was 1/3 full. Server was invisible and the "house specialty" Bone in Filet was a complete joke. Ordered it med. rare, came out burnt and medium, all this for $42. Table side salad is overrated. Tried to complain to the hostess but she was too busy clearing tables. For what is considered an upscale restaurant in an upscale area of town this place was sure a disappointment. The $200 bill didn't ease the pain any either. For this kind of quality and service you're better off going to Outback.

All entrees include a spun salad, assembled tableside. More than a half-dozen extras to choose from include: tiny shrimp, banana peppers, bleu cheese and black olives. It's dressed in the house Caesar and served cold, fresh and abundant on icy plates.
