Editorial Review for Nicollet Island Inn – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
A mishmash of stone, brick, wood and wallpaper create a harmony of warmth in the lobby. Built in 1893, the building's original purpose (a door factory) bequeathed lots of tall ceilings and heavy timber posts. Although obviously built for romance, the inn also sees a large number of business travelers who want to be close to downtown, but in a quiet setting. The 24 rooms feature high-speed Internet access, newspapers, irons and hair dryers.

My husband and I went to the Inn for dinner on Fri. night, the day after Valentine's Day. I thought it was very beautiful, romantic, and cozy. My husband thought the steak he had was a little grisly, but my tenderloin was perfect. Also, the wedge salad was delicious. Overall, we had a great time. Can't wait to go back and stay overnight next time!

We were very happy that we booked a room. Last time we were at the inn for a 100% experience for dinner. The room was as advertised -- comfortable, quaint, very "inn-ish" with great creature comforts. Loved the sheets and fancy beds! Great night all the way around.
