Great Distance Learning University. iLove attending Walden!!! iAm a Family Nurse Practitioner pursuing the doctoral degree in Public Health Epidemiology. iChose the scholastic path that challenges me &Walden University allows me to foster my advanced expert inquisitiveness in my own unique way. The pace is perfect. iProtect the environment by enrolling in distance learning methods and iLearn there is so much more to do.

Very Dismayed. My experiences with Walden had been wonderful until it came time to formulate and present my proposal. The whole process is very disappointing and very unacceptable in more than a few students eyes that I have spoken with. You must be assigned a chair that assists in proofing your drafts and making suggestions, as well as support you when you have questions or concerns. This is not the case in many instances. I have been assigned chairs that do not take time to read the documents and are very dismissive knowing that most students are focused on a time line for their study. Many students time at Walden has been dragged out due to the non compliance of the Chair personnel to Walden's own time line of two weeks for response, but nothing is ever done. Students are just provided another chair and must extend time and monies to make up for the delays caused by those assigned as their chair.

This is not a rare circumstance due to the online and disconnected nature of the chairs responsibilities, but it is often a costly and very stressful time for the students who must endure it through no fault of their own. I am very questionable of Walden due to this lack of integrity and follow through by the University. I believe the students should have first priority, as they are paying for a good educational experience, not for inadequate attention to their goals. I have spoken to at least 6 students that have started and taken a break, or dropped out due to the same issues in my class alone.
