Good service in a poor market.
While I have registered with several temp agencies in my job search, only ProStaff called me regularly with prospective job assignments. After the initial interview I was happy to notice that everyone knew my name and made me feel welcome. I really appreciated that I could go in to the closest branch to go through the free software tutorials. Getting that kind of training after being out of the work force for ten years was hugely helpful. I was able to bring my skills up, and ProStaff marketed me very well.
My initial 6 week assignment was extended several times, but each time ProStaff made sure I was OK with the extension.
bad experience with pro staff. I worked with the prostaff office in maplegrove for nine months, they don't care about their employees and don't look out for their best interest and don't know how to appreciate a good worker. They are rude and i would never go to work for another prostaff agency, since this was the first time i worked with a staffing agency i didn't know what to expect and it was totally different when i went to work through aerotek they are extremely nice and go above and beyond to find a perfect fit and i was so surprised when my recruiter the wonderful jeff in arden hill would call me on my cell just to check on me and see how i liked it and encourage me to do my best i was soo shocked when i got hired on after 3months i loved my job and now i refer good people to aerotek and i know i can always depend on them for a good placement.
Unprofessional, bad customer service and rip you off.
First, they are not terribly good at finding you jobs. You sign up with them for a year, they will probably only get you a 3-day convention job. And the jobs Pro staff can get are ONLY those lowest positions in small companies. (Ex:data-entry, registration, delivery, receiving phone calls)
Second, they DON'T care about finding you good working opportunities, they ONLY care about money--the outrageous cut they make from your wages.
One of my friends who was working on a Prostaff position got a great opportunity to become a full-time employee in the company, but as soon as Pro Staff found out, the agency asked for a big fee from the company for "breaking the contract", so the company couldn't go on hiring my friend. My friend confronted them after he talked with the company and Pro staff just ended contract with him the next day. Well, who wants to work with them anyway?!
Only out for the money, not their employees. They sent me to an office that they had already placed 6 other of their employees at. They did not inform me of this or that it was a horrible and unproffesional working environment. Everyone who left their wrote Prostaff letters about the company they had been sent to and still they continued to send more employees there. They are only out to make a buck and could care less about the people that work for them.
