In Short – This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree plates. The menu also offers chicken, pork and seafood entrees along with Creole appetizers like shrimp remoulade. Family-style sides include gargantuan onion rings, creamed spinach and various styles of potatoes. Traditional homemade desserts like cheesecake and bread pudding conclude the meal.
Editor's Tips

Went there for my birthday with my wife and another couple. We booked early so we could catch the PHilharmonic afterward. Service was polite and prompt. Our server was very knowledgable about the food and the wine and one of the chefs Warren, I think his name was, came and asked about our meal and we asked for suggestions for dessert and wine and he was spot on with his suggestions. We will definaitely celebrate here again. We also had a pleasant time and our food was timely enough for us to get to our other appointment with time to spare. A great start to a great evening, definitely worth the price.
Our favorite (just not this time).

My husband and I consider Ruth's Chris to be our favorite restaurant. We have tried many of the "big name" steak places in the Twin Cities, and we always find ourselves saying, "it's not as good as Ruth's Chris." The sizzling, tender filet and the hash browns (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside) are our favorites. With that said, I was a little disappointed last night when we dined there last night to celebrate our one year anniversary. Instead of the tender filet I was expecting, I found it very tough and difficult to chew. I had my husband try it to see if it was just me, but he ended up spitting it out. My husband's cut of meat was great as usual, but somehow mine was just off. I wasn't in the mood to spoil our evening by complaining, so will just hope it is better the next time. In retrospect, I wish I would have said something considering how much we spent. In the past it has always been superb.
Top notch as soon as you walk in the door

I've eaten many steaks and not much compares to Ruth's Chris. The service is the best in the business, the steaks are heavenly and the desserts and sides are the perfect accompaniment to the steaks. So far, I've had the ribeye, the NY strip, and the filet. It's very hard to choose which one is the best.
Highly recommended for any occasion.
Definitely delicious..

I read some reviews, went there as a large group for a friend's birthday, and expected great steak which we got. It was really expensive, the most expensive meal my boyfriend and I have ever eaten, and the lobster tail was pretty good too. They have large side dishes that serve 2-3 people, I ordered the broccoli cheese au gratin, which was delicious along with a NY strip. I'd recommend trying the calamari and tuna which were presented and tasted really good. My steak was still sizzling when they brought it to my table and we were warned plenty of times that it was hot. After sampling a little bit of everything on our table, I didn't finish my steak but brought it home and ate it the next day. The only thing I can complain about was the wait time. It took forever for our food to get to the tables (we ordered off a special & limited menu created for our party) and after we ate, it took the waitress really long to bring us our checks, and of course she took a long time bringing back the slips. My boyfriend was starting to get an anxiety attack. I understand there was like ten people at our table, but most of us paid cash or were paying as a couple.
- Pros: food, service, complimentary valet
- Cons: long wait time
All around greatness

I took my husband here for his birthday and was very pleased with our experience. Yes, there is a little "sticker shock" at the menu prices but you won't even think twice about the price once you take that first bite. The service was impeccable. Generally, any restaurant that offers crumb service scores high with me but here they went above and beyond by calling me the next day to make sure that our dinner was everything we'd hoped. and it was....all that and more
- Pros: Superb service
- Cons: Parking - definitely go with valet
