would recommend it. I have used shear trends since i moved to minneapolis in january. I always have my haircut with denny. I think he always does a great job on my hair and is a really nice guy. I dont believe its overpriced but then Im from Europe where i am used to paying in the region of $70 for a basic haircut!

So VERY Pleased- Lynne is GREAT!!!. I am not the type to go to salons regularly, in fact- I am the type to run over to Great Clips on my lunch break and let them hack away at my hair just to get it neater... well- I am tired of not ever being able to do much with my hair. I called on a whim (I had just past Shear Trends on my way back from the bank) and decided to give it a whirl. I was set up with Lynne. Lynne had confidence and was so friendly that there was no uncertainty- I told her what I needed- what I'd like it to do- I mean very minimal instruction and she gave her suggestions and went to work. I came out with the BEST haircut I EVER had.. it's soft, feminine and easy maintainence.. when I got back to work- everyone noticed immeditatley and I rec'd a ton of compliments. The hair cut was $30.00... came with shampoo/conditioner, the cut, and styled... I am so pleased that this will be my new salon- and Lynne my new stylist. WORTH IT...

Best hair cut. After going to great clips in the skyway and getting my hair butchard by an idiot, I came to Shear Trends for help. They gave me an immediate appointment. They repaired the mistakes done by that hack shop on me and now it looks great. I will never go anywhere else. The price is absolutley worth every penny.

Uncertainty does not breed confidence!. I went in for a haircut - nothing too exciting; not an overhaul. I felt the stylist lacked the confidence to go for it. We discussed what I needed but she kept asking "is this about right?", "do you want a little more here?". I'm thinking - good grief - I told you what I wanted - do you know what you are doing or what? When someone shows a lack of confidence it causes me to not trust them either. It was an uncomfortable situation and I felt like I was in a beauty school except there was no instructor to help her.

The ambiance - or lack thereof - makes it feel like a discount salon but the prices don't reflect that at all. Not a great value.

Pros: She was friendly

Listens to clients. I have used this salon twice in the past year. I found the service to be very good. I felt the stylist did listen to my needs and had suggestions that were appropriate. The price is high, but I have also been the Daulton Hair, Cole's, and Studio 4 near my home and they were comparative to Shear Trends. You expect to pay a premium for convenience.

My hair color did not change -- for $135!!. I went in for a color and trim and pretty much spent three hours and $135.00 for the trim. The color I had needed to be removed before the new color was applied (which made sense), but at the end, I walked out with pretty much the same color as I had before the appointment. Worse, less than 24 hours after getting my hair professionally colored, I found three grey hairs (even though I mentioned that I wanted grey coverage with my new lighter color). When I went back to complain, the colorist said that "we don't know what's going to happen" when hair gets colored, and that the grey hairs "just didn't take the color." I can go to Target and get color that covers grey for much less than $135! (That's what I may do next time!)

For the Price go someplace else. I found the stylist to not listen to what I wanted in both cut and color. Really it drove me nuts for three months and then I decided to change salons. A bit pricey for the atmosphere.
