The first skyscraper in Minneapolis is now dwarfed by other, taller buildings, but it's still got the only observation deck in town.

The first skyscraper in Minneapolis is now dwarfed by other, taller buildings, but it's still got the only observation deck in town.. In Short
Built in 1929 at the then-astronomical cost of $25 million and modeled on the Washington Monument, the Foshay was the brainchild of plumbing magnate Wilbur Foshay, who went to prison for fraud a year after it was built. The Foshay was the city's crowning glory before the IDS Tower, and even today the opulent art deco lobby is breathtaking in its extravagance.
