Horrible experience watch out for employee credit card scams. The VIP waitress ran an $1800 charge on my credit card with out my knowledge, she even had great penmanship signing my name to the receipt.

if anyone else has similiar experiences please let me know. I am currently contacting the Minneapolis liqour license department.

WARNING: Annex and GM Nick Dodge are PATHETIC!. Annex/Lonetree is the least service oriented "night club" in the cities. The establishment is run by a bunch of SNOODY employees who think THEY are the VIP guests. Don't even THINK about doing bottle "service" here, as you will get WORSE treatment here than if you were to be a normal guest. The VIP lounge is packed full of the bartenders butt buddies and a bunch of douches that have connections to the arrogant employees that run this show. To top that they will add a $25 liquor tax and $40 gratuity to your "$160 bottle" automatically. They do this because they DO NOT give the service required to earn a gratuity.

To sum things up, after giving this nightclub several chances over the course of a year, I have been thoroughly disappointed every time. I tried to resolve things with Nick Dodge (General Manager) and give it another shot in hopes for different treatment. Nope, same end result. This place is the WORST environment to drink. You sober up REAL quick when you're raped with hidden charges and furious about your so called "VERY IMPORTANT PERSON" service.

I would gladly recommend other VIP lounges but DO NOT want this to come across as an Ad or Competitor.

Skank-Central, Watery Drinks. I paid a $30 cover to go here on New Year's Eve - which, apparently paid just for a free glass of champagne at midnight....I was planning on getting tipsy to celebrate the new year, and, after 7 or 8 drinks, including several shots - no buzz whatsoever! I am 100% convinced they water-down the drinks. The young 22-24 year-old women only seemed to be there to be seen, and they were all "too cool" to dance. So, my friends and I had the entire dance floor for 3 hours! Pathetic "balloon-drop" at midnight - approx. 6 ballons fell from the ceiling! Watch out for the skanky skinny drunk prom queens falling over all over the place after 1am.

Same old top 40 music, bro'ers and skanks. Males: If you're white, hail from the suburbs, love to where striped polos and baseball caps backwards, and majored in business, you'll be at home.

Females: If you think you could be a model, hail from the suburbs, love attention (like being molested by bro'ers), have self-esteem issues, and watch a lot of reality tv, you'll have a good time.

To all: If you love top 40 mainstream club hits, and can't really dance but know how to rub your ass/crotch on the opposite gender, you'll probably dig it.

Avoid Weekday Nights. Utterly dead on a Wednesday night where neighboring clubs were packed at the time. Drinks were EXPENSIVE and seriously small and my friend and I were the only ones in the bar. Gluek's next door was such a better alternative with live music and great drinks.

GREAT PLACE. As I see from most of the low reviews they didnt like the place they just had a bad night. I think that the lone tree is a great place to go on the weekends and during the week. They have good drink specials, great workers, and the cost to get in is not bad compared to other bars and clubs in Minneapolis. Plus its kinda like a 2 for 1 you have the club downstairs and the bar upstairs. You can't find that anywhere else!

Rent-a-cop security manager. Overall, The Lone Tree is not a fun bar. It's not only unsophisticated, but it's dead after they stop giving away free drinks on Saturday night. The Annex is more popular, especially with pervy guys who like to rub up against unsuspecting girls. The security manager and doormen are nothing short of power-hungry baboons that collectively have the intelligence of a gnat. They charge a cover to get in (for what? all you get is admittance into a crappy bar.) The head manager was cool, especially since he refunded my cover plus 16 of my friends? covers after his security dorks tossed out my friend for "looking too drunk? (unlike everyone else in the bar at 1am.) Just go somewhere else; it?s Minneapolis and there are better places to spend your money.

Best place for cheap drinks and good music. DJ Squintz packs Lonetree on Fri and Sat nights. The free drinks are great, and if you tip the bartenders well they will make your drinks stronger. Definately one of my favorite spots downtown.
