Horrible bar and staff that treat customers like dirt. I have been to this bar before and have been none too impressed. Never the less I decided to give it one last shot when a group of my friends wanted to try it out. From the very beginning the experience was awful. We started by standing in line when a friend and I quickly stepped out of line to look to see if we could tell how full the bar was. When we stepped back in line with our friends we were barked at by an overbearing bouncer. He told us we had to go to the back of the line. We told him we had been in line all along but had only momentarily stepped out and that we were not cutting. He again rudely ordered us to the back of the line. No one else in line had a problem with us where we were as they knew we had not cut. The asinine bouncer still refused to listen to any of them. My friend and I told him we would not be giving him our business at all. A couple of my other friends decided to still go in and try it out. They quickly left as well after finding the bartenders were rude, the atmosphere was dirty and the drinks were overpriced and watered down. I do not recommend this bar to anyone as there are plenty of wonderful bars in downtown Minneapolis that actually treat customers with a little respect. I agree with the other review that it does not even deserve one star.
Worst Bar in Downtown Mpls. This is one of the worst bars I have ever been to on the continental United States and I will never go back. I had a friend visiting from Washington whose husband is currently on Navy deployment and my little sister from out of state as well. We got a drink from the overcrowded bar upstairs and then found a table downstairs. One of the 'cocktail waitresses' and my sister accidentally bumped into eachother and her tray spilled all over. The first thing she said in a beyond condescending tone was 'so sorry, you're paying for all of those'. When my friend politely asked if we could speak to a manager to try to work something out she stormed off while yelling to everyone around about not paying for shots she didn't spill. The 'manager' (some guy that was behind the bar) came over to the table accompanied by the waitress who was still cursing and talking to anyone she could. After my friend explained what happened and asked if we could figure something else out besides sticking a college student with a $65 charge for drinks she never touched his response was to tell her to 'shut up sweetheart, you don't know anything about bars'. He continued to interrupt her, point fingers, and use disgusting language all while the waitress continued to stare and make rude comments. Now, I understand that it was unfortunate some shots got spilled. However, judging by the 500+ people that were packed into that overcrowded bar, I would think they were making enough money to forgive that small cost on both the waitress and my sister's part. Isn't the customer always right anyways, especially when they apologize and ask if there is something that can be done in a polite manner. This was not the case, we ended up paying for half of those shots and had to sit there while being berated by the manager. We did leave no tip which I feel was well deserved on their part and had to watch the waitress continually stalk around the bar and make rude comments anytime she we were within earshot of hearing what she had to say. Congratulations Sneaky Pete's on your professionalism, class, and excellent customer service. You just lost a patron that had been visiting that bar since I moved here 4 years ago as well as any friends and strangers that ask for my opinion. I wish a rating wasn't required to make a post, because I would not give this bar even ONE star if I had a choice. Disgusting service, disgusting bar, disgusting staff.
Not very good. Not a great hot spot for the Twin Cities in my opinion. I've been to alot better. The set up isn't very good, crowded, really dirty, noisy and hard to get around the area. The crowd that goes there is rather lower class people. The people that go there I noticed were very stuck up and rude. No one treats it like a bar or a nightclub. No one knows how to dance there and sloppy drunks everywhere spilling all over you. No one is open to conversation there. They all just stick to there own crowd for some dumb reason. Alot of people were sitting down and the few people that actually talked to my group told us that they were having a terrible time as well. The cover charge was cheap, but it's obviously cheap for a reason. The place is straight up cheap with a cheap crowd in general. I suggest spending your time and money somewhere more worthwhile.
Sneakys!!. Ive worked at sneakys for almost three years now and im telling you if you havent checked it out yet you should. Good food, great drink specials and friendly staff (untill you start acting like a dumbass). Of course my opinion is a bias one but in all honesty its just a great spot to grab a few drinks and let loose. Open 365 days a year and opens at 11am. Check out the web site for more details.
The Hottest Spot Downtown!. Wow, after reading that last review I had to say something! first of all---its OLD! That old shot girl with the bra has been long gone. I was there for happy hour about a week ago on thursday with my 3 friends (it was one's birthday too so she got to drink for free!) and our waitress who was oh so sweet. She told me and my party all about the new plans. We toured the new patio and she explained to us about the new downstairs pub with the additional restrooms and billiards being put in. The whole staff seems to be very excited about the opening in early may. This will most definitly lift Sneaky Petes above all the other bars downtown. As far as the description of the old downstairs, that seems to be only a bad dream compared to what they have been up too with all the construction. Also, being a smoker that new second level patio will be very cool this summer. I actully like how packed it gets in there on the weekends, who wants to go to a club with no one in it? If you really need a drink and the bars too busy, find a waitress! Sneaky Petes is like one of the only places in the city that actully gives you that option at a club. I love it there, and I hope to see you all there this weekend ;-)
Find a better place on the weekend.... This place may be good for weekday, after work happy hours, but if headed there on the weekends, ladies I would suggest getting drunk before going to make this place tolerable. They cram SO many people in there that it will take a good 20 minutes of pushing and shoving to get to the bar. It's mostly guys drunk-goggle-oogling the random (ugly) girls dancing on the bar (it's allowed and available to those who aren't dancing on the three stripper poles they set up after hours) or the scantily clad shot girls - one girl just had on a bra and jeans, no joke - who for the duration of a song every now and then stand on the bar and pour shots into people's mouths. Then to top it all off, they only have 3 stalls in the woman's bathroom in the bar, but advertise "additional bathrooms downstairs." Except to get to these bathrooms you have to go outside, down these crumbling cement stairs and...get this...in the backdoor of the Dreamgirls strip joint that's next door to the bar. Then you go in that door, walk past all the "video viewing" booths and a random room with a 1/2 bed (think the displays at department stores) and cond0m wrappers and kleenex all over the floor and into the bathroom where there are 2 stalls with doors that don't properly lock. With so many cool places in downtown Minneapolis, you're better off avoiding this place!
Billing itself as the ultimate fun bar and grill, Sneaky Pete's provides plenty of good libations, pretty faces, food and atmosphere..
Whether you are downtown for the evening or need to wind down after a long day at the office, Sneaky Pete's has the goods for both. With 35 plasma screens showing everything from the NFL and NBA to ultimate fighting, the sports fan is well suited at this heart-of-downtown neighborhood bar. Add to this a menu that serves solid American fare and a clientele that could distract even the most dedicated sport fan, and you get a good idea of the appeal of Sneaky Pete's.
