Nice place but Candice did me wrong. I needed a new stylist who specializes in short hair so I called and asked " who specializes in short hair?" Candice answered the phone, but she also said she specializes in short hair. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair to look.... When I left the salon, I left in tears, worst hairstyle ever.... Not trying to throw her name in the mud, but I felt she lied just to get more clientele.

Very Pleased!. I've been living in the Twin Cities area for 8-9 years now and during that time I've done my own hair. In desparate need of a hair cut and style I broke down, tried, and trusted V.I.P. with my hair. I called the night before and was able to get an appointment for the next morning at 9:00 a.m. which worked out great. Candice Metcalf did my hair and I was very pleased with her service and the finished product.

Horrible. I went in for a sew in with Candice and she was very nice, my appt was at 4, she called and had me come in at 3, I get there she dont start on my hair until 3:45. She started for 30 minutes and then another client comes in and she stops for 45 minutes while she twists his hair.

When she finally got done with my hair it was not laying down flat at the top, I gave it a few days and called her to fix it, she did, at least I thought, she re did the top and when I got home I was sitting in the chair and my niece was standing over me and said u can see all your tracks and the thread from the sewin, I have been trying all weekend to cover that up, the bad thing is Candice saw the top of my head and let me walk out the salon like that, That is bad business, They have lost my business, I will never ever go back. BE WARE........

fast workers and nice job. I liked this salon a lot. The made my hair look so healthy afterwards. It has grown so long after I went. They also have fast workers. They got done with my hair in a hour. So I wasn't sitting there along time...so for all the impatient boyfriends can even wait there for to get done..mines did. I he even said it was fast. If you want your hair done good and fast go to v.i.p and you will get it!!!!

VIP---surprised and disappointed. I am new to Minneapolis, so I called VIP because of the good reviews. I spoke with someone and asked for a recommendation of a stylist who provided natural hair styles, as well as press and curls. I shared that because I may be developing alopecia, I wanted to stay away from chemicals as much as possible for awhile.

When I tried to reach one of the recommended stylists, I was told to leave my name and number for the person to contact me. That hasn't happened, in spite of the fact that I went personally to the salon (twice) and each time left my name and number. When I still received no response, I called and was told the stylist was with a client and that she'd call when available. I have yet to hear from anyone from VIP. (And that's been over two weeks.)

I'm now wondering if some stylists are not taking clients who may have problem hair. If that's the case, it's their perogative, but why not just say it? Unfortunately, people can put a lot of time into how they look without regard to how they act. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems as if common courtesy and being truthful may not be too highly regarded (or practiced). Based on the previous reviews and the outward appearance of the place, if this is the case, I am surprised and disappointed.

If anyone knows of a stylist in Minneapolis who is willing to provide service to everyone, even the challenges, and who, most importantly, has skill and character, please post. Thank you.

Classy. I was very pleased with the service. I hardly EVER provide reviews, but considering the day and age of disgruntled employees, it's only fitting to rave about their quality of service. The stylist was patient, knowledgeable about hair maintenance and very friendly. The salon's overall decor is very professional, unlike what you normaly find in black salons in the Twin Cities. If you're looking for a stylist and not someone who's just in the business to take your money, then V.I.P. is the place to be.

In and Out!. I am newer to VIP after having had the same hair dresser for over 10 years. I was very hesitant at first but absolutely love my new stylist-LOVE him! I have been there for 2 washes and 2 relaxers with trims and he has done a great job. Right when you walk in the door people are smiling and friendly-I highly reccomend it! It also has much better parking now across the street.
