Pretty Regular Experience. Not a great venue. Seating is poor and there's just nothing special about it. They better redo it soon
ARRIVE VERY EARLY!!. Last night, I took five close friends and family members to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. The performance was amazing. . . . . . once we were seated. We arrived at the center a full twenty minutes before the concert and stood in line for forty minutes. Yes, we missed the first twenty minutes of the concert. Apparently, the center failed to have adequate personnel at the gates for a cursory security check and ticket scanning. The flow through the gates was a trickle at best. And with hundreds of people still standing in line for the security check, no one bothered to ask the performers to delay the start of the concert to allow all who had been there in a timely manner to be seated. And once we were admitted, no one was in our section (floor seating) to see that people were sitting in the right seats. Suggestion: either the center needs to revise their entry procedures or I suggest that you arrive at least forty minutes before your concert's scheduled starting time. As a foornote: three years ago we attended the Bette Midler concert with no similar problems. Have attended numerous other concerts and never had a problem.
Big-box arena that hosts the T'wolves, Lynx, touring concerts and events from the circus to "Muppets on Ice.".
In Short
Home to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Lynx, basketball is what this arena does best. This big box on the west end of downtown Minneapolis also accommodates rock concerts, hockey games and ice shows. The floor can be raised and lowered to offer the best sightlines. For the big rock and country tours, Target Center is exceptional.
