Good, honest, quick food. I have been lunching several times per week on Eat Street for 23 years. When I need to grab a basic lunch, of consistent, good food, Caravelle is the go-to choice. The buffet is consistent, good, fairly-priced and tasty. It rarely changes. The chicken wings are excellent. The soups are at least an 8 of 10. The egg rolls are quite good. I always enjoy the fresh salad side- they have great fresh cukes year-round, and it's rare to find kim-chi in a non-Korean restaurant; they have a very good version daily. This is not the place for those who must have trendy decor or posh food. This is a place to walk in, grab a quick, good-tasting, solid meal and get back out. It has a little something for everybody, whether they're meat-and-potatoes or dieting, but not 400 choices. It's one of my favorites; and although the staff is very, very busy, I've never found them to be rude.

great authentic Vietnamese food. If you want "truly" authentic Vietnamese food this is the place. Don't go here if you want the so called authentic food of "Leann Chin" or "PF Changs".

Appetizers I'd recommend the beef wrapped in grape leaves. If you want some truly fun and delicious sweet/sour soup order the "Firepot sweet and sour soup with Catfish" or shrimp if you don't like fish.

The five spice shrimp is delicous as well. The restaurant shares the same place/owner as Pho 79 and their Pho is decent.

do not eat here!!!!. i left my house in dire need of wonton soup!! i pulled in the caravelle lot to get some soup to go and thought as long as i'm out i should get a sandwich from jasmine. stocking up since i had the flu and a fever!!. i had been out of my car for less than five minutes when i looked across the street to see them towing my car! no they would not drop it, not they would not allow me to purchase my soup and they also threatend to call the police when i went inside to sit down to use my phone. there are so many asian restaurants, quang for one, do not eat at caravelle. they were unbelievably rude and in all honesty i would not have been there if quang had been open.

caveat emptor. This is a good place for a lunch buffet and the other food is fine so long as you are interested in good bad chinese food (sweet and sour chicken). Not for a second should it be thought of for anything else then what it is... a low end cheap chinese take away and god bless it! every neighborhood should have one.
