For good authentic Chinese food, head over to Seafood Palace. The weekday lunch specials are inexpensive, served with soup of the day, white rice and egg fried rice. It's hard to beat the location; it's just a few blocks south of Downtown Minneapolis. From November to March, Seafood Palace offers an evening fondue buffet--choose from paper-thin beef tenderloin, baby bay scallops, full-head shrimp and other delicacies and watch the chef stir-fry them in hot broth.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the TC
by diavious at Citysearch
This is one of my favorite spots for great-tasting Chinese food. I eat here 3-4 times a month! Everything on the menu is flavorful, service is prompt, and food preparation is quick. I've taken people who thought they didn't like "Chinese food" here before and they loved it. You won't be disappointed.
- Pros: food, value
- Cons: parking (must park across the street in the lot)
I highly recommend

I just visited the Seafood Palace for the first time and joined citysearch just so that I could rave about it. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly, quick, and personable. It's everything you could ask for in a restaurant. The prices are fair, worth every penny. I would not recommend the plum wine because it is far too sweet for my taste. However, any seafood or beef dish will be tasty. Go for any occassion, including birthdays.
Best Seafood & Chinese in Twin Cities

Seafood Palace is the most consistent restaurant on Eat Street (Nicollet Ave.) in Minneapolis. I work in the area, and this is the restaurant I take people to when I want to impress them (and not spend a bundle). I have been eating there for probably 15 years, and I've never had a mediocre meal.
The luncheon buffet and specials are excellent and always perfect. The chicken wings on the buffet are the best in the Universe. On the luncheon menu, the honey walnut shrimp is quite remarkable.
Their full menu, available at lunch and supper is the most creative Chinese menu I've seen in town. Several of the dishes are about 12's on a scale of 10. They make a shredded potato birdnest with seafood that is amazing. Again, the honey walnut shrimp is incredible. Steamed fish, oyster dishes, stunning sauces- and everything always perfectly prepared.
Several months ago we held my son's groom's dinner there, and the party was wowed.
This is a restaurant with reasonable prices, great service, perfect food and a staff with a great attitude. *****
- Pros: Perfect, creative, consistent excellence
- Cons: After 15 years, I can't think of any.
