Tips for D'amico & Sons

The D'Amicos bring alta cucina down to earth in affordable salads, sandwiches, pizzas and pastas.. In Short
Brothers Richard and Larry D'Amico won raves from food critics around the country with their namesake D'Amico Cucina. But it wasn't until they opened informal deli-cafes that most Twin Citians learned what the fuss was about. Everything is fresh, colorful and generously seasoned with herbs and garlic. Smoky hints hide in the roasted turkey sandwich and the grilled vegetables with couscous. The restaurant bakes its own focaccia and crusty breads and pastries.

Consistently good salad, pasta. Their caesar salad is my favorite in town. Pasta is consistently good. I used to love the pizza, but they changed the recipe... used to have nice chunks of tomato on the pizza, now it's just a nondescript tomato sauce. Bummer! The stromboli is a good recent addition to the menu, although the red sauce tends to be a little salty. Service is quick and friendly.

just average. decent/good food, fast cafateria-like service. I don't really have anything negative to write. This place is just kind of blah, there, ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, though.

Good consistant food. The food is always good at D'Amico. The staff is friendly, but the counter service is always a little bit clumsy ("I don't know what yet", "Can you read what it says up there?", "Why don't you go ahead of us?" etc).

We eat here when parents are in town or when we want a lot of crusty bread (mmm, crusty bread). The neverending glass of house wine is very nice (although we've never pushed the "neverending" part too far).

I like the cherry almond pasta salad, the Molanari sandwich and the lasanga (sometimes they will add spinach).

Come for the food, stay for the food. Are D'Amico's sandwiches overpriced? Yes. Are it's salads overpriced? Yes. Are it's deserts overpriced? Yes. If I wanted a vegitarian sandwich, some chicken pesto salad with green beans and a home made cookie would i go anywhere else for it? HELL NO! I don't know what these guys do with their food, but seriously, there is not a D'Amico property that does not completely satisfy my want for great tasting food. The salads here are fresh, as are the sandwiches. If they could get Lurcat's fries over here, I would be in heaven. I highly recommend the vegitable sandwhich (the chevre and peppers make it), the hot italian is delish, the key lime crostata is tart and perfect, and the wine and beer selection match the food very very well. A definate for lunch or a cheap dinner!

yum yum yum. Great food for a great price. A little spicy for some people's taste, but my family LOVES it!!

pleasant experience. Lots of good food for a decent price. The two pasta entrees we shared were a bit on the spicy side, so be forewarned. The tomato and mozzarella salad was excellent, but some of the turkey and chicken salads were a bit on the rich side. The tiramisu is a pretty decent option for dessert. LOVE their "bottomless" glass of wine - for $4.25, I drank five glasses of wine with dinner.
