Enjoyed everything but the management. I came in about a week ago for the first time because a friend recommended Milda's as a good lunch spot. Everything was great, the server was very friendly, food was good, but half-way through my meal I hear a woman who appeared to be the owner completely berating my server which not only obviously embarrassed her but me as well along with a couple other customers. I know it must be hard to own a restaurant, but making it miserable for everyone else just is lousy. I ended up tipping my server more than I usually do because I felt sorry for her.

Great pasties, so-so location. Went there to try the pasties... fantastic!, and I'm a transplanted Englishman so I know a good pasty when I see/taste one. Recommend getting it with the gravy, makes all the difference. It's worth phoning in advance if you want to take some frozen pasties home with you. Only gripe is the location (slightly run down area) and my clothes smelt a bit like I'd been near a deep fat fryer when I left. Cafe is kept very clean and staff are pleasant and attentive.

The perfect urban American cafe, with legendary pasties.. In Short
This family-owned restaurant has been a north Minneapolis fixture since 1965. Hearty breakfast specialties rule, starting with fresh cinnamon rolls and several omelet offerings, paired with kielbasa or the standard sausage, ham or bacon. The lunch crowd will find no-nonsense comfort food, including hard-to-resist hot beef, ham and meat loaf sandwiches with homemade potatoes and gravy. The pasties are legendary: hefty pies filled with roast beef, potatoes, carrots and onions, wrapped in a flaky pastry crust.
