Tips for Red Dragon Restaurant

Back to my youth. As someone who used to enjoy the old Downtown NAnkin, I was thrilled to hear that their old head chef has been at The Red Dragon for many years. We ate there recently and were not disappointed. The eggrolls were crisp and not greasy, the serveice was very friendly and the Cooked to order chicken Chow Mein included nice size slices of chicken and fresh vegetables. Not the best atmosphere but the taste brings me back to my youth

HORRIBLE!. Our waitress was very, very rude. She sighed and rolled her eyes at us when she asked us for our order. She then accused one of our group of showing his id to her with too much attitude. Whatever that means. She then proceeded to insult as and swear at us and cause a scene. We ended up leaving before we got our drinks. If this review stops one person from going to this restaurant than Ive done my job! Go support a business where the people are nice to you!

Who's going to bust through the window?. Everytime I go here I expect Bruce Lee to come jumping through the window. Or maybe Chow Yun Fat will bust open a two fisted gun fight like something out of Hard Boiled. Of course nothing that dramatic has ever happened.

This place has DIVE written all over it: the black bar, the bathroom grafitti, the stained glass windows. The menu is huge. The food is what you would expect. But most people come here for their ridicously strong drinks. And then they people watch.

Don't expect a non-smoking section. And don't expect to drive home.

Everytime I go, I always end up thinking, "Man, I need to come here more often."

Not so Chinese Food. The atmosphere lets you think this place is authentic, but a taste of their main dishes and you know there's just some caucasian burn-out cooking. The sweet and sour chicken tastes like soap and the beef tends to be chewy. The hot and sour soup is good, however, and the drinks are made well. Eat somewhere else first, then come in for a drink. The staff seems to think that they are doing you a huge favor and that they don't need to be polite to get you to return...once at closing time a waitress yelled profanities at the top of her lungs and told the crowd she hated us - I wasn't impressed and haven't returned for a late night drink since.

I love it!. This place is wonderful! I've been coming here for quite a while. The service is great...it's not the tradtional fake smiles but the servers and bartenders are real. The drinks are dirt cheap. The decor is relaxing and fun. Come to the Red Dragon! You won't be dissapointed!

Dragon clique. I would NEVER go to the dragon to meet people. I live in the neighborhood and find that it is a "bring your own friends" kind of place. It is fun, it has great drinks and good people watching, but people sit at their tables. In the bar, you may meet some local drunkards, but I wouldn't count on being able to take any of these home.

drinks in a fishobowl..... ....is what I thought the first time I was served my Wandrous punch. "Ye gods, it's a bucket full of booze!" Some of the mixed drinks are fondly reminiscent of college wops. Combine that with the kickin' jukebox, and you have yourself a grand ol' time! On a side note, the food is mediocre at best...your typical greasy, Americanized bastardized version of Chinese. Don't waste your time. Go for the free flowin' liquor and the wonderfully happy selection of music instead.
