It was my birthday, I learned that they
DO NOT DO ANYTHING for birthdays...but I learned this in the rudest way possible. Medusa the bartender looked me up and down, leaned in, shook her head and said "NOPE, we don't do ANYTHING, NOTHING."...well okay, thanks? I got the impression that if I were wearing ripped levi's and an american apparel T, I would have gotten different service. Guess my white birthday dress I saved up to buy (sorry I looked so clean cut?) wasn't 'cool' enough there.
On top of feeling like I looked like someone she hates, a guy friend was picking up the 2-4-1 deal, and intended to use that to offer me the 2nd drink- bartender told him couldn't do that. Are you serious? What's the difference? What if I don't want two drinks? What if I'm trying to be responsible and just drink one? I can't do that? You're going to force me to purchase a 2-4-1. What if I didn't live down the street and attempted to drive home after ONE too many and you lose your bartending license as you, being the last one to serve me, would be at fault in the state of MN? Come on, seriously, regulate 2-4-1s? Was it worth being so rude to us all and ruining the last few minutes of my Birthday?
My group of friends we were all purchasing beer. No one was there to 'abuse' her deal.
I guess birthdays are too mainstream.
Average Pizza, Rude Staff.
Another place with much better choices available. The staff is very rude. It is amazing they have jobs... in this economy there are plenty of people who can do the job at least competently.
The pizza is uninspired. May as well make your own or throw in a frozen one.
Worst Pizza Ever. The restaurant gets packed but no one can be found eating. Mostly 20 something?s getting loud and drinking nasty beer. The service is not friendly, you can hardly see a smile. The pizza is worse than the grocery store brand frozen pizza. The crust is like what you would find on a Pop Tart. There is hardly any sauce at all. There is only one vegetarian pizza and it is the standard veggie pizza you can find anywhere. Kid friendly. Lots of flat screen T.V.?s. JukeBox is more than likely to eat your money and NEVER play your song. My advice- go for happy hour- 2 for 1 specials are available- and only order the garlic cheesy bread appetizer, because that is the only thing worth eating. They have a parking lot across the street. Outside sidewalk seating is available and a place squared off for smoking.
Big Disappointment. The pizza was nothing to write home about--it barely had any sauce and the vegetarian was an expensive disappointment. Also, they limit refills on pop--who does that?
Terrific thin-crust!.
If you get it while it's hot, this is the best. The atmosphere is the real reason to come, though. All 20-somthings, all full of fun, most there for the bar, which is hopping.
Great place!
Great Happy Hour, Service, and Very good Pie..... To be honest...I wasnt a frequent patron of the LTOP until their recent remodeling which opened up the interior and provides a more stylish dining experience...but the real draw here is the 2-4-1 happy from 430-630pm...local tip...if have some pizza...avoid the Potter and others with way too many toppings...they are very greasy....lopt for a simple pie...ask for extra thick crust....and have them cook it well done...Enjoy!...all in all....a very neighborhood joint with a loyal clientle....patrons are friendly and polite....
Good beer special. Its okay- nothing special. The pizza isnt the best- but Im very hard to please when it comes to my pizza. They do have great drink specials and they have a fun (small) outdoor eating area- if you dont mind the noise. Its worth the trip if only for the beer specials. Bonus- free parking!
Piled-high pies, cheap beer and a jukebox spewing local music--that's Minnesotan!.
In Short
Unassuming two-room bar and restaurant serving thin-crust pizza and pasta in a prime location on Lyndale Avenue. Cheap pitchers of beer, curbside dining and arctic air conditioning make the Tower a popular meeting spot for Wedge neighbors, especially during summer months. The menu includes pasta and sandwiches, but people come for the 'za. Potter Pizza is the specialty--it includes your pizza standards (sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, green peppers and olives) plus, for some reason, celery.
Great Pizza, Super fast Delivery. One night I found thier menu out on the sidewalk, and we decided to try it. I'm SO glad we did! The delivery was super fast, and the people taking our order we totally friendly. The pepperoni pizza was great, although days later we try the sausage (much better!) The cheesesticks are great, but the burgers were not. The best pizza on the menu is by far the Hawaiian. Try it! It's amazing!
Pizza Good, Lasagna is frozen. We moved into the neighborhood in March. We like the pizza and usually ordered weekly. We tried the lasagna one night. I thought we were eating Stouffer's frozen lasagna. We called Leaning Tower to complain and were told that yes... it is frozen. We were also treated very rudely by the employee. Never again.
