What People Are Saying About Veras Cafe

In Short – Vera's is outfitted with antique-looking tables, ice cream-parlor chairs and velvet and mohair couches. Eclectic decor and comfy furniture make it a restful stop for local office workers and shoppers to stop in for some java and a muffin. The coffeehouse specialized in European coffee recipes and also offers a variety of light fare and a full bakery. Breakfast dishes are served all day.

What a great place to grab a cup of coffee!!
by shirschuber at Citysearch
Vera's is such a warm and friendly place to grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The food there is tasty and you can just tell it's homemade. They have a way of making their patrons feel like old friends when you walk in. I love that it's locally owned. If you've never been here, you have to check it out!!
- Pros: Superb Coffee, Great Food, Quiet Ambiance, Free Internet
- Cons: None
Great "Neighborhood" Place... "Gay/Gay Friendly"... Perfect Patio
by mplssam at Citysearch
This is one of my favorite spots! I generally stop in daily, In the summer there is a great patio... and with a very sociable group of regulars, it is not uncommon to get wrapped up in a public debate or conversation. Most of the people there are gay but they are straight friendly ;)
- Pros: Great place to boy watch, Awsome Spinach Nut and Honey Wrap
- Cons: If you like Sumatra, you're out of luck
GAY bar?
by 242424 at Citysearch
There's GLBT friendly and then there's h o mo nation. The shirt in the entry says "We serve it hot and full of cream!" There was not a straight person in the entire place. The coffee was acrid and bitter, making Starbucks taste like a latte. Didn't like the Chai either. Will never be back.
- Cons: Felt COMPLETELY out of place as a straight person and intimidated.
my 2 cents

even though veras can be extremely hectic, i wouldn't go anywhere else. Its the one place that I can go to sit and read a book, or just hang out with my friends. A very comfortable spot to go to. Its has the REAL coffee shop feel to it.
I find the staff very friendly, especially Quinn.
- Pros: atmosphere, open late
- Cons: too busy sometimes, lack of parking
hmmm

Though sometimes loud and occasionally a hectic place, Vera's has become my favorite place to either people watch with my friends, or read a book and drink a latte alone. Everyone seems to be very sociable, making the place more like a bar without the booze. The staff can be irritable at times, but who wouldn't be when dealing with such a demanding clientele (oh, when we want it our way, don't we just have to have it?). I'm just glad that there's somewhere for me to go, feel relaxed, and feel comfortable.
And have you seen the garden?
- Pros: Great food., Free internet., Beautiful men.
- Cons: Busy., Loud nights., Lack of parking.
