In Short – This serenely simple restaurant features brick and pale-yellow walls, paper lanterns, bamboo-and-wood trim, Japanese prints and bonsai plants. As soon as you sit down, the server delivers a little basket with hot, moist, almond-scented terry-cloth towels. You can hide out in private zashiki rooms, sitting Japanese-style on the floor at low tables. There's no quarrel with the variety or the price at Fuji-Ya, which offers nearly 50 types of sushi and teriyaki at inexpensive prices.

My Favorite!

After living in the Twin Cities for several years,I've tried most of the sushi restaurants in the area, and always return to Fuji Ya.It is the absolute best option for sushi and Japanese food in town.Without a doubt.

  • Pros: Best Twin Cities Sushi!

I'll definitely be back!

by foodie134

I was visiting from Chicago this week, and my friends in Minneapolis met me at Fuji Ya for some sushi and sake. The sake list was very impressive, the service was great, and the sushi definitely surpassed the usual sushi fare I have eaten at home.I know where I'll be visiting again on my next trip to the Twin Cities!

  • Pros: Fantastic sushi!Great place!

go anywhere else, this place is overrated

by cloudeight

Officially, Fuji Ya is beyond overrated. I have been here four times now and each time the staff has been rude (excuse me, server? but your art degree isn't changing the fact that you're bringing me fish) the food was mediocre at best and the prices were a joke. This place is annoying.

  • Pros: pretty restaurant
  • Cons: service, annoying atmosphere
