Busy at 3:30. We went there on a Saturday afternoon (3:30ish), and the place was rather busy, even for that off time. It took a while for our waitress to come and take our orders, but not so long that I felt ignored. Our food arrived very quickly and was very good. Our waitress was good about checking on us. They didn't have all that much selection for vegetarians, but what I got was tasty and satisfying. The prices are very reasonable as well.
Be Careful from over priced at Quang.. Food was okay, but be careful when you check out and ready to pay your bill. We got cheated several times by their cashiers. They never break down the bill and often over charge from the menu price list. Always double check with your order and ask for a receipt.
Favorite place to eat.
A very busy restaurant is a good sign and this place is packed. Fast freindly service and great fresh food.
never had a bad meal and I am constantley turning people on to this place. The best eggrolls and vermachelli salad.
unsanitary place to eat. When entering Quang you automatically get blown away by a big stinky wave of fish sauce aroma. This scent unfortunately permeates throughout the whole restaurant. Not appetizing at all. When I finally got seated, the booth was all sticky and the table condiments and silverware were filthy. Not to mention the floor had food all over it. Our waitress said about a total of 2 words to us the whole time we ate and never came to check on us during the meal. On a good note, the food came out super quick. Food was the right proportion and had flavor although was not as authentic as people rave about. All in all I'd recommend this restaurant to late night partiers that are looking for food after drinking at the bar.
Affordable price, authentic food, Amazingly quick and friendly service. I love treating my self and some friends to a fun time at Quang. You get delicious food fast along with super friendly service. During the Lunch and dinner rushes, its so crazy how extremly busy they are. Unlike, most other restaurants, I've notice Quang doesn't have food runners. The servers there seem over worked during the rushes so I tend to cut them some slack during these hectic times. For some reason Quang seems like the most friendly vietnamese restaurant in the whole state! And Don't forget! mmmh! Sea bass soup is the best noodle soup ever! The pork chop rice platter served over broken rice is just scrumptious! With my many pleasant trip to Quang, I learned that the bubble teas are not made of powder its actual flavored teas and milk. I lov Quang's Food and their service! I actually have two fav servers there, one is a guy that always wears college baseball hats. He's really funny and Super Quick! and the other one is a petite girl that's jammed pack with a friendly personality, U really can't miss that CUTE SMILE! (Even if U can't see her eyes hehe. Although she seems a little crabby during the rushes with Some OF THE OTHER OVERLY DEMANDING CUSTOMERS) Other than that she is speedy and nice! IN CONCLUSION, COME TO QUANG ENJOY THE GREAT ATMOSPHERE, SAVOR THE TASTEY FOOD AND APPRECIATE THE AWESOME SERVICE!
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT AFTER PAYING. Food is good but the man working the register is pathetic. Either he's working to quickly w/his fingers or he's trying to make a quick buck off you. I've been to this place many times before and will leave overpaying $5-$10.00. The staff likes to add additional charges especially if you have a large group. After reviewing my receipt, calculating taxes and gratuity during my last visit, I found that I had overpayed $11.00 and some odd change. Even w/a 20% tip, I couldn't figure out what the additional charge was for. So I went back inside to ask and the man apologized and gave me back the amount in question w/out even looking over my receipt BUSTED. That is just too pathetic.
Good food, Great Service. It's a very crowded and popular place and I can see why because the food and service is great. Eventhough it was busy and crowded during lunch hour on the weekend we were seated within 5 minutes and our food came out before we even knew it. We had pho, spring roll, and egg roll. It was very tasty and very generous on the meat for the beef pho combo.
Makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I love Quang's and go there at least every other weekend for lunch. Go after 2, when the rush has died down and there's no wait. The pho is mouth-watering, with huge slices of lean beef (I like the combo with the meatballs - squirt some hoisin sauce on a plate and dunk your meatballs in it), tasty broth, and accompanying sprouts, basil, fresh sliced hot peppers, and lime wedges. My only complaint is that they are a bit skimpy on the noodles and fresh basil. Like a previous reviewer, I also suspect too generous amounts of MSG - I'm always quite thirsty after eating their pho. When I have time, I prefer my to make my own pho, but when I'm feeling lazy, Quang's fills the urge. I've tried to branch out and try other Vietnamese restaurants, but I've always been disappointed. Other gotta try dishes: mi won ton (wonton noodle soup), grilled beef/egg roll bun (noodle salad), and bubble tea (I know, it's made with powder, but I almost prefer these to the "fresh juice" ones). The egg rolls are a bit greasy and light on the filling, and the spring rolls are not too flavorful - most of it comes from the peanut dipping sauce. But when you want some good noodle soup or bun, Quangs is the place to be.
Authentic Vietnamese food, friendly service and prices that are rub-your-eyes low..
In Short
Big and bustling, this place moves people in and out with hardly a wait. Lunch folks stop at the deli side to pick up quick meals and tasty Vietnamese-style hoagies. Others line up for a table or a booth in the all-windowed space that looks out on Nicollet Avenue. The menu is chock-full of plates that are plentiful and inexpensive. Huge bowls hold make-a-meal soups and are paired with abundant vermicelli salads.
Rachael Ray was Right!.
I recently moved to Minneapolis from Los Angeles and believe me when I say I know my Vietnamese food!
One night while watching the Food Network, to my surprise Quang's was mentioned. I kept hearing from my co-workers that it was good, but just haven't made the trip. After seeing them on the Food Network, I had to try it! I ordered the spring rolls (best I ever had, anywhere) and the Sea Bass noodle soup, it was so fullfilling. I've never had sea bass done up so well, and only have to pay $8.00 for it. They could've charged me $26 like most restaurants and I'd still get it. After dinner, I tried the coconut rice cake displayed at the checkout counter and it was amazing! I've even tried to replicate this at home, but have failed miserably. Maybe the hottie at the counter will give me the recipe one day!
I'll be back! Thanks Rachael Ray!
