We ordered a double sausage pizza with half mushrooms for delivery. The first pizza arrived with all pepperoni. Fine, people make mistakes. The second pizza arrived with 8 pieces of sausage on it and mushrooms on the whole thing. When we called, the guy who made the pizza said that WAS double sausage, apologized for the mushrooms and offered to make us a third pizza. Of course it was bedtime by then so we declined. He declined to give us a credit for a future pizza and after eating the one we had, we were thankful. If it's late night and your drunk, I'm sure you'll find the pizza tolerable. If you have any taste whatsoever, and a standard for how businesses treat you, I suggest going to Pizza Luce down the street. Oh, and if you need any indication of how a business values you, look to see if they offer an email address on their web site to send your feedback. Uptown Pizza makes sure you cannot email them to complain - I can now see why.
1 1/2 hour wait for 1/2 burnt/ 1/2 under cooked 14in pizza!? – We have ordered from Uptown before, and always know they take forever, but last night was ridiculous. We were told the pizza would take about 45 minutes for delivery, but it actually took an hour and a half to get delivered. It was nothing special, just a 14 in, Maui pizza. So, when the pizza arrived, of course it was luke warm on the verge of just being cold; however, it was burnt in some spots and under cook in other spots. Worst ever! I had a half slice as that's all I could stomach. Sorry to see that Uptown Pizza is going down in service and quality, used to think it was great.
Good Pizza, good price. – I ordered from there and they were completely courteous and amazing. They were prompt and the pizza was good. I work in the service industry and realize good service when I get it.
Worst Customer Service – I ordered a pizza from Uptown Pizza tonight and must say they are very POOR on customer service. I ordered a 20 inch pizza and got a 14 inch pizza. I called to complain and was treated rather rudely and cold by what I believed to be the manager on duty. I explain to him the situation and it was put back on me as making the mistake. I just finally told the guy that I will no longer be ordering from them. The pizza also arrived only slightly warm. Will go back to Jakenos' when ordering my pizza since I feel they are a 4 star pizzia with excellent service.
Best pizza in the Midwest – Let me first say that there is a review on here with one star, and claiming bad service. I have ordered from them probably 100 times (seriously) and not once had bad service. It may have been an off night, but that goes to show that it can happen to the best. (Which is why I always say to give a place no more than two chances to see if you really like it!)
That said, UPTOWN PIZZA is godly! Their Margherita pizza is my favorite, and you honestly have not lived until you've tried their cheese bread and their garlic knots, both things of legend. The Margherita has the perfect crust, the perfect cheese, the perfect tomatoes. Their garlic knots are genius, soft and crispy at the same time, with the perfect amount of spice, and drenched in olive oil (served with marinara sauce. Their cheesy bread... dont even get me started on that! It cannot be descirbed in words. You must order it now!
I tried a ton of pizza places when I moved here almost 2 years ago, and finally "found" Uptown.
Their Florentine pizza is also nice, and I've been tempted to try their 4 cheese, but their Margherita is so perfect that any time I call I can't order anything but it!
Highly highly highly recommended.
(On busy nights, they are going to take longer than usual, especially if you live on the border of their delivery area... which includes downtown by the way, since it's not officially on their map. But it doesnt take TOO long.)
Excellent pizza, especially the white pizza. – I highly recommend any pizza with their garlic olive oil sauce. Very garlicky, very delicious. Their Thai Chicken Pizza is also amazing. My personal favorite pizza delivery in Minneapolis, and I've lived here for some time.
Bad service... slow and can't even get the order right! – Do not order delivery from this place. We ordered on a Friday night. The order took way over an hour to arrive. Mind you we live a few blocks away! Once it made it to my house, the pizza was cold and it came with the wrong soda. Since the delivery man had already left, we called and asked for the right soda to be delivered. We were told it would take less than 10 minutes. After waiting for another half hour, I called to get a refund on the order. The manager finally obliged, but not before treating us with disdain and disrespect. You have been warned!
bad customer service. – I have had some pizza there. The pizza is no good and soggy but the wings are great.Bad service the driver was rude and scummy looking. On the phone they also took my order wrong i was not happy at all.I mean i heard good things about this place but i tell you i'll never order again.when i called back they said they would not refund my money well what is that all about ....
Have found the answer to Luce. Best flavor hands down!!!! – I have tried all the chains in town and other Minneapolis pizza businesses and have fnally found my home!! NY style pizza with a distinct sauce and perfect crust. I like my sauce to have a slight bite and crust crunchy , not chewy. Great service, ontime delivery and prices that fit the product. More than the chains, similar to Green Mill or Luce, but with an original top line pie and less waiting.
Best so far and it might be tough to keep searching. Seems like a set up for disappointment.
NOT the best! – What can I say about this? I've heard so many reviews ranging from alright to awesome. Honestly, I'd agree with the alright. I was pleasantly impressed with the customer service that the employees gave (especially since it was a holiday!) Very friendly and offered to deliver the pie to me even though I do not live in the delivery zone. The pizza however lacked in taste and was pretty expensive (comparable to Luce).
