This dump is not worth the effort. Our group of 7 apparently broke some rule by taking a chair to accommodate all of us from an unused neighboring table. When the 7th person (playing in the band) got up, we returned the chair, and saw the nasty note that the server had left "Please do not move chairs." This left a taste in my mouth even worse than the rotten pizza (way too much garlic). You can get a better pizza at Pizza Hut. And chances are better that you won't be insulted. This place needs to be out of business.
Guess its a South Minneapolis thing – I happened across Dulono's review's here and was shocked at the overall reviews! I am from South Minneapolis, and actually consider myself somewhat of a pizza snob. Bar-none, Dulono's has best pizza consistently. I know their number by heart, order often and so does almost anyone I know who lives South and wants a good pizza you can count on. I have never had anyone be rude, never had a bad pizza. Never. I've also ordered the Chicken Bacon Club- I highly recommend it- its amazing. I have just ordered tonight, we'll see if my service is as bad as you all say. Strange to never in over 30 years had remotely this kind of experience. Someone on here mentioned Galactic, I like their pizza okay, kind of fun to have the costumed delivery drive show up, but if you are hungry and just want a good pizza- Dulono's is your place.
Good pizza, AWFUL PEOPLE – Tonight I ordered a pizza for delivery. While waiting I checked my phone and saw I had 3 missed calls from an unknown number. I called it back and it was the delivery guy. He chewed me out for not answering the phone. I asked why he didn't just ring the buzzer to my apartment and he said the order taker wrote down the wrong apartment number. (I'm not quite sure how this is my fault). I apologized for the mix up, he said if I still wanted my pizza I would need to call the manager. I did and I mentioned to the manager that her delivery guy was a little rude. She blew it off and asked me if I wanted the pizza delivered or not. I indicated I would. Two hours later I finally get the pizza delivered. I tipped the guy $5 (for driving less than a mile). I glanced at my phone again and saw I had a text message from the first delivery guy. It read (verbatim): "I really hate when people order pizza and dont awnser got wrong apt # 2min im leaving". I was more than a little offended. I called the manager to report it and she told me, "Whatever."
Needless to say, it's a shame the best pizza in the world is served by the biggest b*$!h!
(I plan to share this all over every review of this pizza joint)
Weird area? – I’ve been a Dulono’s customer for 5+ years. Tonight I called to order delivery, I live by the Basilica. Anyway, the girl taking my call told me “ya, I guess we can deliver there, but it’s kind of a “weird” area.” That was the rudest thing I’ve ever heard from a pizza delivery order. I automatically cancelled my order and called Pizza Luce. I don’t order pizza to have the area I’ve chosen to reside in be insulted. How rude, Dulono's.
pizza=yum. everything else=yuck! – the pizza is good. the salad was plain lettuce and 1 slice of sandwich tomato and 1 slice of white onion. wtf is this? a side salad. wow,its like shelter food. the dessert was OLD and had been sliced so long it was discolored on the side. i wouldve loved to see the menu, however they have NO website and no online menu. they also failed to deliver one so i could order from it. maybe they are realistic and know people wont order from them more than once. this was my 2nd time ordering from them. last time i only got pizza. the pizza is good though so if thats all you want,ok. the delivery driveer called me and had me come down to the door and get the food instead of him walking it up like everyone else does. i also have read now of others who have had simular bad experiences. get it together guys!!! its 2008. get a website, actually care about the quality of the food that goes out the door. i cant believe you are still in business. overall a waste.
Worst Pizza, delivery, salad.....Dont waste your time. – Dont waste your time! I heard from a friend that if you like Galactic pizza then you will love Dulano's. They were wrong. The delivery is horrible!!! Where to begin! first they get the order wrong, there was no reciept to sign..so i gave no tip! the salad was well below par, it had one slice of tomatoe and a chunk of what looked like an onion, i would not have fed that salad to a rabbit! Besides getting the order wrong the pizza was soggy and not cut well so when you pick out one slice you actually get the whole topping from the pizza! great! And to top it off when the delivery guy found out the order was wrong and he had no reciept he left to make a phone call and i could hear him cussing as he left the apt. I cant believe these guys are in business. Never using or recommending ever again.
Not the best – Well I was definitely not impressed with dulono's pizza. To start with the employee who took the order was VERY rude. I had never heard of Dulono's before, found them online while looking for a late night meal, but had no knowledge of their menu. The employee who took the order was clearly frustrated and VERY rude because I didn't know exactly what I wanted. As for the food; well the chicken wings were good, but really small, the pizza was okay, the fries were horrible and soggy, and the cheesecake... well how do you screw that up? Well I definitely like that they are open so late. Overall I would say dulo NO!
Tasty Pizza -- ignore the idiot with the delivery complaint – There is nothing bad to say about Dulono's. If you like pizza and a very low-key atmosphere, you'll love this place.
Ignore the review about the delivery complaint, it is not the delivery person's job to call the individual who made the order, it's simply stupid to decide to change addresses and expect the pizza to follow.
Friendly service, decent beer selection and excellent, inexpensive pizza.
sucky delivery, avoid that. – Me and my friends made a delivery order to an apartment in downtown minneapolis. Maybe ten minutes later we decided to switch apartments (same building) we called to let them know, and change the order which was confirmed that it had been changed by person taking orders over the phone. Maybe 1 1/2 hours later were wondering where its at... We call back and turns out they GAVE THE PIZZA AWAY, they buzzed the wrong (the apartement that we had previously gave before the call back), and they decided not to call my phone that they had asked for before making the delivery but buzz a random apartement and give it away. Later the next day we called to complain about what had happened, even talked to the GM, and not a f****** thing was done about it, could'nt even get a simple apology after all this wasn't a mistake it was a lacking of use of obvious resourses, such as MY PHONE NUMBER. *rolls eyes at dulono's*
What have you been waiting for? – My friends and I have been going to Dulono's for quite some time. The pizza is fantastic. The sandwhiches and burgers are really good. It's really hard to lose with anything on the menu, which is odd because the menu does not include anything you haven't seen before. It's cheap and the beer is cold. It does get really busy on the weekends, which leads to very limited parking. Don't be surprised if you have to park a block away because the weekend bluegrass really brings them in. If you see a big open round table near the TV, keep moving because its reserved for local Minneapolis Police.
