A Travesty! A Sham!. This is not where one goes to have fun. Staffed primarily by self loathing narcissists, it goes without saying that the service is terrible. The patrons are by and large equally a waste of oxygen. And a killer jukebox? Only if you like digital jukeboxes where morons can play whatever they want ad nauseam and pay extra to play their songs next. However, if it's soul crushing, existential black comedy you seek or if you're a profoundly awful human being and prefer the company of other profoundly awful human beings, this is the place for you!
They throw you out when their friends assault you..
Last night some friends of mine were at trivia at a different bar. This guy showed up that's been stalking one of them so they left and headed over to the C.C Club. He showed up there right after them and continued to harass them. They told him to leave and he disappeared.
I met up with them shortly after that. At that point I had no idea what had been going on and we had a couple of Premiums. It seemed like a normal night and since I just graduated I was more than happy to have some friends to drink with on a Monday.
Then this guy walked over to our table and said, "Maybe you were right," and threw a drink on several people at our table, mostly women. Full disclosure: one of them was my girlfriend.
I got up and shoved him away from our table into a pillar. He moved just like a rag doll and could barely stand up he was that drunk so I let him stumble inside while a couple of other people went to talk to the bouncer about getting him kicked out. I stayed with the table in case he came back.
They came back about five minutes later and he hadn't been kicked out. He was actually sitting at the bar getting consoled by the entire staff. Twenty minutes later he's still there and people are starting to get worried about being able to leave because he's sitting by the only exit.
So, I went to try and get the staff to kick him out. Failing that I was going to call the police. When I walked in the staff was still comforting him and on my way to confront them I was intercepted by a server who shoved me and yelled for the bouncer. Then they surrounded me and while I yelled for him to be removed.
This went on for a couple of minutes but it seemed like forever. They wouldn't remove him. Everyone else was able to get out during the confusion though so I left.
He was still inside 15 minutes later when I got off the phone with the police. They didn't tell me to stay so I left with my friends, again mostly women, so they weren't walking alone.
In the end I'm happy to have been kicked out of the C.C. if that's they way they're going to deal with a stalker that assaults their customers.
awful.
I have been going to the cc club for a few years now, and I had to stop. The service is horrible. The bartenders and servers are extremely rude. I have no idea why they are still in business because of the terrible service. I can understand that it can be stressful on a friday or saturday night, but that does not excuse blowing me off many times when I try to order a drink and when I finally do get to order, they are nothing but rude and act like I'm such a pain in their butt.
next time you are thinking about hitting up the cc, try the bulldog across the street, they have a patio too and their service is ten times better
Best corner bar!. I've been going to the CC since I moved to MPLS about 10 years ago, and it's my favorite hangout. Best for parting on Sat, then coming back for a recovery breakfast on Sun. Awesome Jukebox!
Great place for casual rocking out!. Yeah it's a place to go if you're a smelly biker kid who likes to talk loud and get drunk... but isn't that what it's all about!? Maybe I'm just a masochist but I like having to tackle the waitress to get her to notice me... and the pitchers are cheap, the seating is comfy if you can find a seat... and yeah it's just a good time. Some of the wait staff is actually awesome just a few mean ones who I equally love. never tried the food but I think that's for the best.
A home away from home, with a bit of attitude(exactly what you need). Great vibe. Really felt at home there. I loved the fact that it was right around the corner. I loved the Jukebox, the Bloody Mary's, and most of all, the Eight Ball Deluxe pinball machine that sat right up front. "Stop talking and start chalking."
Best bar in the TC!. I love the CC, and I've been going there for years. After reading the reviews here, I had to comment, because it seems like people are being unfair. The CC is a busy place, and if you are going there on a Sat. night, it's going to be PACKED, so go early, or don't complain about having to wait for a table. Also, if you are on the back porch come 1am, it's the law that you have to bring your drink inside. At 1, not whenever you finish smoking, so don't get surly with the harrased people working the porch when they ask you to take your drink inside, or get it dumped out because you refuse.
It is what you'd expect. This place is what it is. The servers are typically rude and have that cool act going on, but it's a good place to just kick back and hang out with friends. Don't have any high expectations and you'll probably have a good time. The juke box is good as well.
Insulting Service.
Last Monday night (9/29) at around 10:00PM, I was at your establishment helping a friend celebrate a birthday. When I went to the bar and asked the bartender, a heavy set man in his 40s with short-blond spiky hair, for a pint glass, he handed me one with half an inch of soapy suds in the bottom.
It's been a long while since I have been treated with such open contempt and hostility. I felt humiliated. Not service I will be recommending.
