confusing image. I have been a customer for 15 years @ Jon English. I am very confused since they changed their policy about the stylists tips They project the image of "The Best" and the MOST particular--but I cannot leave a tip on my credit card! The confusion is--are we a Classy salon--or one that needs money???

Best uptown hair stylist. This salon is the bomb.. I always book with Kaela( formely Laurie @Rocco Altobelli Minnetonka), a tried and true aesthetician professional!! Kaela's Aveda trained and Rocco's trained (think MN's version of Vidal Sassoon)and the girl knows mens hair! She won't touch a clippers (unless you ask) and give you the meanest baddest hottest scissor cut you've ever had. But start it out first with the complimentary hot towel facial wrap, relax and let Kaela do her wunder cut! The men's area on the street level of the salon's got great windows out on to the street scene, sony TV for every chair, excellent coffee and magazine selection. Some of this place's stylists may be skipping a beat, but Kaela can work a pair of the shears! Great scalp massage too, and have booked her for a unibrow removal too. The brow service takes place upstairs in service rooms at back of women's salon, but you walk up there with Kaela and you feel totally comfortable. As for the eyebrows...Dont even want to admit to getting them done... But Kaela gets it and you will leave there cleaned up, unibrow free, but still looking like a guy....Parking is what it is.. if your main concern about your haircut is where you're gonna park, go to the Golden Razor at Brookdale........This is a serious cool salon with the Uptown thing and one seriously talented Kaela.

best color for black hair. PAULA. PAULA. PAULA. I loved this salon and my colorist. I have jet black hair. I wanted to go lighter. After bringing in some pictures...Paula highlighted my hair. It was the best color i have had in a long time. She does a great job!

Best spot ever!. Go see Sara Von! I've never had a bad cut from the girl, ever, and I bet she's cut my hair 90 times! She is fun to work with, listens to you and is honest about what to expect! She never tries to talk you into something you don't want (cuts, services, products) and is very knowledgable about hair! She is a sweetheart!

Most of the staff is friendly, and make you feel like you are a queen! I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Extreme Talent. I have been going to Jon English for years. There are several incredibly experienced stylists, but I must admit that Monique Martin is definately the best. She is always a step ahead of trends and is really great at reading what it is that you want. Everywhere I go people ask me where I get my hair done. I am happy to refer people to Monique and the Jon English Salon in general

Best Hair Salon. I always see Kaela (Laurie) when I go to Jon English because she always does a fantastic job. She is the only person who I have entrusted my hair with for the past 18 years. For a top notch salon, Jon English has the service to go along with it: I always am treated with the utmost professionalism from the time I make the appointment to the time I walk out the door. Everyone is always very friendly, I always get in on time, and most importantly, Kaela always takes the time to listen to my wants & concerns and when I leave the salon I feel great because of the results of a great haircut and color. I get many compliments on my hair and I owe it all to Kaela and Jon English. I love it there because the atmosphere is not pretentious at all like some other upscale salons. Here you are given the Red Carpet Treatment- they actually care about you which is very refreshing. Jon English has all the services I need and want all in one place: brow waxing, cuts, color, chair massage....I can do it all in one place and that is very convenient. They also have a high quality product line and it is reasonably priced. I drive 30 miles to go to this salon and to have Kaela do my hair, and it is worth it!!

Well worth the trip into the city!. If you're like me and live in the suburbs, there are plenty of places to go right next door. I see Sueng Huei at Jon English and she is fantastic and has amazing style- I ALWAYS love my hair when I leave. A couple of times I have tried salons near my home and have always gone to Sueng Huei crying for help... she is able to take my average hair cut and make it fabulous. I swear I will never go to anyone else ever again! The rest of the staff at Jon English is also very warm and welcoming.

Absolutely fabulous service and atmosphere. I have been going to see Bill for foils and cuts for years now. He does an amazing job; he really listens to what I want. When I wanted something a little funkier, he put in some crazier highlights and lowlights. When I needed something more professional, he came up with a very sophisticated cut. I really enjoy going to see him at the newer salon in St. Louis Park. The atmosphere is is a little more laid-back than Uptown. The Jon English product line is fabulous, too. I highly recommend the Modernizer. There's nothing else out there quite like it.

Worst Dye Job!!. I?d been to Jon English before and loved my cut/color. When I went for a repeat my stylist was gone. They referred me to another and she completely ruined my hair. I asked for a dark brown and walked out with a dull black. Not to mention I had split ends all over. When I returned to have them fix their mess, they offered the same stylist to fix my hair. When I declined they sent me to a higher trained stylist who fixed the color. They then charged me the difference of what she would have normally charged for the color and what I paid the first stylist. This blew me away! I found this salon to be pretentious and highly overrated, not to mention unprofessional. I will never return and have since let everyone I know what horrible service I received.

Wouldn't go anywhere else. I have been going to the Jon English Salon since it opened. Linda has been cutting my hair going back even before then to when she was with Horst. I can't imagine going to anyone else! She is a great hairstylist who seems to work by intuition. I've gone from long and straight to very short, and everything in between at some point in time. It has always looked great. Daniel does my color and starts my visits off on a happy note.....he's a sweetie! I feel like I am getting together with friends when I go to the Jon English Salon.
