A well-established school of Iyengar yoga takes itself very seriously.. In Short There is a very definite structural and organizational theme here, starting with the instructors, who hold annual studies in India with yoga master Iyengar and his children. The studio is a soothing mix of hardwood floors and cream-colored walls. A beginner class starts with a focus on standing, sitting and supportive postures. Levels two and three build on this until the instructor thinks you're ready for pranayama, the most advanced level.
If you are serious, this is the place.
If you are serious about Yoga and really want the best, Lee and Kristin are the best teacher in town. The Iyengar approach is not for everybody, they are strict and not the "yoga" environment you expect. I am always thankful I started out with them and got a good foundation.
For Serious Yogi's.
This studio is wonderful if you are looking to become a very serious yoga student. If, like me, you're looking to yoga for relaxation and stretching, you might be better off at a different studio. The instructor reminded me of a Marine Drill Sargeant. I left class more tense than when I entered.
