great neighborhood diner. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic. Emily, the owner, greeted us warmly and sat next to us at the counter to chat. We just love the place and plan to make it a regular stop. You can't beat the old-fashioned warmth and neighborliness that exists in this classic diner.

This old-fashioned greasy spoon proudly serves the perfect pancake.. In Short
The booths are ancient, the coffee is from a can and the omelets are made with American cheese. But there's usually room to belly up for breakfast at the counter, and you won't have to wait for a table at noon on a Sunday. Emily's offers standard breakfast fare: eggs, hash browns, breakfast meats and omelets in various combinations. The lunch menu features the usual assortment of grilled sandwiches and platters.

hash. The homemade hash, an order of hash browns and a pancake, make for our favorite breakfast. GOOD FOOD!!!!

Comfort. If you need some comfort food in this part of town, this is the place to do it.

The owners seem to take great pride in what they are doing, and the service is excellent.

let's do what we can do to keep the mom and pops alive before they are all replaced by plastic.

Good if you're in the neighborhood. If you're in the neighborhood, this is not a bad bet, if not worth crossing town for. Biscuits and gravy, hash browns, eggs, etc. Are all respectable versions, if nothing especially outstanding. The servers that have been there longer treat you very well, even if new ones are a little shaky. I haven't tried the pancake that seems to be the specialty: if I try that and it's as fantastic as everyone says, maybe I'll come back and modify my review :)

10. At Emily's F & M Cafe you will be served the most delicious 'home made' breakfast in Minneapolis. Emily and Elliot are there to serve you. They'll fix your breakfast or lunch, refill you coffee cup and make conversation. They will great you as you enter and thank you as you leave.
