In Short
Music is the order of the evening at this cavernous, industrial-chic space in northeast Minneapolis. National tours and DJs also occasionally hit the stage, playing anything from alternative to classics from the 1950s and '60s. Themes are anything but routine--Thursdays and Saturdays feature voyeuristic "Bondage a Go-Go" parties. Expect to see a young-ish, fashionable crowd enjoying reasonably priced stiff drinks and a constantly hopping dance floor.

Imagine an establishment conceived by Anne Rice and Quentin Tarantino and you have Ground Zero. This dark haunt plays great music and serves up moderately priced and well poured drinks by a quick and friendly staff. The clientele is an unusual mix of people - the bulk of which can be best described as former Goth high school kids that have no other outlet now that they are in college...but don't let this deter you. The 'upstairs' show is quite strange, but the whole experience may be a perfect ending to a pub crawl with the right people.

I am a huge fan of electronic/synthpop music, love Depeche Mode, DE/VISION, Erasure, Mesh, Iris, Melotron, VNV Nation, Human League, Information Society, Alphaville and soooo oooon............ Unfortunately there are no places in town BESIDES Ground Zero who plays this type of music.......... Ground Zero has bands like VNV Nation, And One, Combichrist performed before... and still have more to come... *** On Feb 21/2008 they will have DE/VISION live at the venue!!! Freezepop is coming too... *** Check it out.
