The Most Disgusting Food Ever. My friends and I used to go to the Village Wok, however, after our last experience, never again!!! The girls and I decided to celebrate graduation and the end of the semester. I ordered a Roast Pork and Oyster dish, which I asked the server about ? she said, ?the roast pork is good, it?s a very popular item.? When the waitress brought out my meal, it was a plate of pork fat and fishy oysters. When I told her that the pork fat wouldn?t work for me, she said, ?Asian people like a lot of fat, and that?s just how it comes.? I was astounded at her incompetence, she could have mentioned the fatty part before I ordered the dish, and making sweeping generalizations about Asian people was just tacky. I shared my friend?s food because I was hungry. Later that evening both my friend and I had severe stomach cramps. Don?t eat here!

Avoid it.. It may be good if you are lucky enough to not get sick. I got sick after eating there, and know others that have too.

Bad experience! DO NOT EAT HERE!. I have had some bad experience with the wok. Let's just say that they aren't as clean as they should be. Try Hong Kong Noodles instead!

With its big menu and small prices, this Chinese restaurant is a favorite of University of Minnesota students.. In Short
Two long, adjacent rooms are full of freshmen with their parents, students on dates and, of course, lone diners poring over books. Servers are incredibly quick and can juggle a roomful of tables while remaining attentive. Expect standard Chinese fare, with a few standouts like the whole walleye--batter-fried and flavored with a rich ginger-scallion sauce. Most entrees are around $10, but you can eat cheaply on rice, noodles, congee (rice soup) and appetizers. An inexpensive late-night menu is available until close.

A must do for any drunk college student. This place is the absolute best finish to a long night of binge drinking. Come hungry and leave greasy.

worth dodging traffic at rush hour. get the seafood in spicy black bean sauce rice dish. it is one of nearly

a million dishes, though, so there are probably other great meals

to be had there. fast, hot, and best of all, big hunks of good

seafood and lots of whole hot chiles. me likey.

Best Chinese?. Honestly, all the reviewers must live in Dinkytown because there is no way The Wok can be on any "best of" lists. The food is okay, nothing special, but I suppose almost anything tastes good after you have been drinking all night and your standards have dropped.

Great place, great service. The service here is excellent, and the food is great. They have a wide selection, including vegetarian dishes.

So what if the ambience sucks.... I'm a college student and work at the hospital nearby. I have found the food there nearly always awesome, the service great, and the hours also good. My first visit I was doubtful of the speed of service because 2 groups of 12 came in behind me, but somehow the food was quickly served all around the same time! Try the iron hot spicy beef (my favorite), sweet and sour soup, and the chinese broccoli, and you'll have a meal for 2 under $20.

One of the best. I love the wok. Food is great. Price is great. Parking sucks, though. With this many great choices and such great prices, you can't beat this one.
