Horrible Service!

by JuLez

I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!

I've been to Hong Kong Noodle several times before, and all those times I've always known that the service there was horrible, but this is the LAST STRAW!

-When being seated, menus are thrown on the table at you.

-Your water cups are brought and just put down in a cluster on one side of the table.

-When your order arrives, it's already been taken to several other tables before they realize who the order belongs to.

-Your meat dish arrives before the bowl of rice that is supposed to come with the dish at the same time

-When you ask for a take home box politely, they mumble something in their language and stammer "SURE"

This is what really threw me off on this visit....

I went with a group of friends (Table for 5). Every time I've been there, we've always been able to pay for our meals individually. I went to pay for my part of the meal first, I CIRCLED my total, pointed it out with the pen and said "I'd like to pay for this one here" handed her my card, and she charged me the whole bill! I asked her if she could cancel the charge and only charge me for my order and she told me she didn't want to do it.

I was so frustrated and angry that she wasn't willing to cancel the charge. A pre-tip charge was also added which came as a surprise to me b/c I had never had that before there.

All I have to say to her is She must be a freakin idiot with no common sense to not know why I circled a price & deaf for not being able to hear what I had asked of her.

Even ordering take out they give rude services. When I stood at the counter waiting to pay for my meal, someone had come in to pick up their order. She threw the take out on the counter knocked the toothpick holder which shot out at me. At least she said "sorry" I guess. But she just slammed his receipt at him.

I'm ASIAN and I get treated like sh!t there. It doesn't matter if you're White or Asian you're going to get treated like sh!t b/c in the end they know you're there for their food and they're going to continue providing horrible services until people decide to start boycotting. And trust me, from now on I am boycotting that place!

But overall, from what I observed every time I've been there, White people have always been served more kindly, probably because they think they can pry more money out of white people.

I am generally a very kind person. I always say thank you's and please and because I have been a waitress before I am always extra patient and kind when dining out at restaurants. But this place just makes your bl00d broil!

-We also never got our tea or our Sriracha Hot Sauce

  • Pros: Good Food
  • Cons: Rude waitresses, meals arrive sporadically

enough about the "racism"

by pookster08

We go regularly and we are white and they are incredibly kind to us, they give my kids free drinks and when they have time they talk to me.

These are my suggestions;

1. If you have been there you may have noticed that they are incredibly busy and yes they screw up the smoothies but in other countries it is okay to screw up and it isn't a horrible crime, just part of the ambiance.

2> If your waitress isn't insanely busy ask them a question that isn't culturally insensitive, it usually leads to a nice on going conversation over the next few visits.

3. Understand the fact that most of the waitresses speak English as a second or third language and that it is easier for them to communicate with customers that speak their first language, so at times it may make you a little less popular.

4. Also be compassionate. In speaking with some of the waitresses I've found out they are raising families on their own, sending money home and working 12-16 hour days in order to do so.

5. They enjoy seeing familiar faces and being that the food is so darn good we have become familiar to them and find the visits very homey and pleasant.
