In Short – Pressed-tin Cathedral ceilings, deep mahogany woodwork, Art Deco décor and nightly live music attracts veterans of both the Cities' jazz and hipster scene-seekers. On a busy corner of Minneapolis' St. Anthony Main neighbrhood, large gathering tables nestle around the long carved-wood bar. Patrons dip into Fondue for Two, a culinary journey through melted cheeses, hot oil and chocolate or select made-from-scratch salads, rustic pizzas and Minnesota-style entrees such as the baked walleye.
Good Memories
by healthedprof
The Times was my weekly after work happy hour place for almost two years. Kirsten, Molly, Leslie, Lana, Sherry and the rest of the wait staff from a couple of years ago were by far the best I've ever known. They all moved on and the service at the Times was never the same .... But the atmosphere remained great and the owner always took the time to say hello and let me know he appreciated my patronage. I have lots of great memories of nights at the Times and I will remember those days fondly.
- Pros: atmosphere, happy hour
- Cons: closed
Poor service at Tmes restaurant
by steven40
The service at this restaurant is very ,very poor. The atmosphere is good but it will take you 15 mins just to get a drink, before you even order food. The manager acts like he knows everything. I told him my beer was flat, he said it was not without even testing it. The only good thing about this place is the music. The price and the service are awful. I would recomand WHITIE'S restaurant accross the street from Times. The food and the serice are good
- Pros: Music
- Cons: Service
Very disappointing, poorly managed
by mcfoodie12
Holds the honor of being the only restaurant to announce THREE hours after ordering that they're out of an item. We made reservations for New Year's Eve 1 month in advance. Our party of 6 promptly ordered the three-course fondue: cheese, oil and chocolate. After the main oil course was cleared away, our waiter announced they were out of chocolate fondue. No joke. The manager knocked a whole $5 per person off (a la carte, the choc. fondue is $14/person) our bill but failed to remove the automatic gratuity charge. We also received rain-check vouchers for chocolate fondue. After ruining our New Year's Eve, we don't want to give The Times a chance to ruin another evening. Shame on the management for not ordering enough of a non-perishable ingredient, waiting 3 hours to tell us they had run out and mishandling the bill.
- Pros: Parking, music
- Cons: Service, bad management
